I am going to start a ext cab in the spring, watching this thread close for ideas. looks good so far.

Geeez... Probably sounds more complicated than it is. I'd like to see this too.

X2....sounds like you have it figured out though. I can't wait to see how it looks. It's bound to be a lot better than the original design.

Alright, I need ideas on how to butt the doors together...
Since it will be pillarless from the outside, the two door lower egdes will line up with each other. Since the angle of the trailing edge of the front door, and the leading edge of the rear door dont match, I'm going to have to modify one of them to match. Now the difficult part here is in the fact that the trailing edge of the front door has a radius edge as it transitions from the flat door edge to the angled window frame. So if I want to make the rear door follow, I'm going to have to cut into the rear door and re-angle the leading edge of the the window frame to follow the front door. If you can't visualise it, just take a look at your drivers door and try to figure out how to butt another door behind it. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on this?

ok . here is my thinking.
keep going as if there is a 1-2 inch filler panel between the door posts.

most 4 doors have a thicker middle post, so it shouldn't look wrong.

straighten out the rear edge of the front door to but up to the rear door.

add material to the rear of the rear post on the front door, and the front of the front post on the rear door.

See quick pic.
I still used the one with all the posts the same as the windshield.

Is your rear door going to be suicide still?
Are you planning for all the doors to open seperatley, or only rear if front are already open?

put the striker on the floor and put the latch at the bottom of the door.

OK....man here is an easy way out....weld both doors together to make them one....

Then Lambo the whole thing with like 12 lambo gas struts....simple.

make the window post angles match and suicide the back door. use roof and floor stikers like the new chevys. you will only be able to open the back when the front is open.
