Re: Finally my own build thread!

interesting rear section on the truck, looks killer. does it ride well in the rear with shockwaves at that angle, looks like the oil would be in the wrong spot with them inverted like that. kinda kool that you can run them that way. keep it up, looks killer.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Hey guys! Sorry for not getting back or updating the thread. I have been working like crazy with my new business and haven't had a single second to work on the truck. Infact i am debating on selling the truck because i don't have any time anymore. Nothing new has happened on the truck which kills me to say. I fell like i have failed but i need to keep food on the table first then i can play.

Another note. I am going to be selling my wheels and tires off my truck. I need to buy a large format printer for my business. Everything is brand new never driven. $3k for the wheels and tires. Pm me for details or call me on my cell 805-610-5327

Thanks guys for all the kind words!!!!!!

Josh

Yeah having the correct tools make a world of difference. I am still missing quite a bit of the tools but getting by with what i have. The next project i am doing i am definately buying the tools first!

Well Rokcrln i just recieved the one man cab lift. I can't wait to build it. I had a hell of a time putting the cab on so i can't wait to take it back off. It will be so easy . I forgot to check the mail today but i bet the tip and flip should be here any day.

I would love to have a english wheel. I don't know how often i would use one but when i do it would be sweet. I own an HVAC (Heating and air conditioning) business and I have a 52" shear, 2- 8' brakes, 10' brakes, slitter, circle cutter but they only are capable of 16g steel. I think the 10' brake will do 14g. Everything i have used for my truck is 1/8-1/4. All those tools and I am still screwed. I am already trying to save up for a small cnc plasma because i am SOOOOOOO sick of all the grinding and cutting. Anyways thanks for desing some great products!

Hey Jsoh that thing is lookind bad. If you want you can keep the stock spindels from the frame and we can work something out for the drop ones.

What? You're STILL not done?

j/k You are making incredible progress with this build. I have all 4 wheels holding air, so I might get to park my truck on the street this weekend!

I finished the truck last week but i took it to the grocery store and when i came out the motor was gone, there wasn't a bed, no gauges, air ride system wasn't finished, firewall had a lot of holes in it and there wasn't a front clip on. So i had to start over again.

PS. Keep an eye out for all my stuff

Josh

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Well i finally got around to notching the frame for the rack and pinion. I took some 3 1/2 pipe cut it in half and then welding it into the frame. Here is a couple pics. I still have to grind down the welds.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

I also finally got done mounting the air tanks. I wanted to do something creative so i took my brand new chrome 3 gallon tanks and cut off the factory tank mounts and then created my own. I tig welded the new mounts to the tanks. I then mounted them where they will go and marked out my holes. Then i took the plasma torch and cut out an area around my holes so i can weld some nuts to the back side. I wanted to have a clean install of the tanks. They now bolt up into the frame. Came out pretty sweet. I took alot of pics of my process of making the new mounts because a fellow board member and i were talking about what i was making and asked to see the process i went through. So here they are. The last pic is just showing how i cut out the frame so i can get to the backside to weld the nuts on.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Here is a few more of the tanks actually mounted. The first pic is showing what the factory tank mounts looked like. Now i just have to figure out how i am going to mount the compressors.

Oh man. That thing is looking sweet. The round stock for the notch looks good. The air tanks came out great too. Everytime I see an update I'm always amazed. I'll need to cruise by this week and check it out.

Re: Finally my own build thread!

Thanks poorboy for the complements. I have been very busy on the truck. Those brackets took for ever to build. There was so many steps and it seemed like everytime i got one thing done another one popped up. Oh' well at least its done.

Sorry i didn't bring the old frame over today. I had a soccer game today and it drained me bad. I haven't ran for over a month. I will try to get it to you this week. Josh
