I had some time to install the cpp c-notch and its was a nice piece so install was pretty straight forward! Take a few measurements and get out the old plasma cutter. the only real pain in the a$$ was pounding out those rivets! Heres a few more pics! |

Ya I figured making up some L angles to support the frame welds couldn't hurt! I saw that in another frame shortening thread on the forum and thought it was a good idea!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
I debated on changing out or making a new crossmember but decided to keep the factory one. So i put in some exhaust cutouts. I cut up some 5" rings and welded them in! Turned out decent but still not sure about keeping it or going with something else?

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Ok first up is chop down and shorten the passenger bedside! Ive seen a lot of different ways to shorten box sides but nothing really stood out to me since i didn't want to just chop the whole backside or frontside off. The front cut i kept close to the edge to eliminate warping and save as much original paint as possible. That should help with my paint blending later! I did make it complicated for myself though as i staggered the cut on the outside vs the inside box. I used tape to keep my lines paralell and it was also an aid for the measurements.

lower section was tricky to keep the contour and the sloping body line lighted up.
