Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Uhm.....chad i lost the plate on purpose....lol.....the engine is mounted way to far back to use the cross member...and the front plate was a pain in the rear cover so to speak...As for the cowl hood.....well we got the big guns working on that now...I dropped off a couple of hoods for him to start with and he came up with a couple of killer ideas that i can wait to see. I am going to hold off posting anything about the hood for awhile till we see how things pan out....but lots of other pictures soon

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Sliced and diced, wow quite an undertaking. The set back looks great, very aggressive. Is that a custom trans crossmember, or CPP or something? I'll be watching this one.

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
it's a custom made one.....the engine mounts are basically the same way...I couldn't get a good picture of it just yet.....but when we pull the build block out i will get some better pictures of it....I will post some pictures of the tubs later....I really like'em....almost done now so i was holding out until the rear tub was all fabricated before showing them

All you have to do is have the color mixed and tell them you want to add 2 drops of the blue base....and it's no longer the other word color....it's a custome color....just saying...lol....help me sleep at night

I like where this is going...
I used an old big block trans cross member on mine, but a fabricated one may be in the future, and yours has a nice design. Keep the pics coming. |

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street
Man, if I had known 6 months ago that you were looking for a set of aluminum BBC heads.....I sold a killer set of ported Dart 320s w/119cc chambers, 2.50/1.88 Ferrea valves, Comp titanium retainers, and a matching ported Dart 4150 intake. The heads were fresh, the manifold had been ceramic bead tumbled, even came with new guideplates and head studs, everything was ready to go. It was set up for a 496 I was building for my '55. I decided that I wanted to make the '55 more of a truck that I could take on road trips, so the BBC idea was shelved. I was figuring that my combo would have made about 700 horsepower. It would have been fun to take to cruise night, but not so fun on the highway.

Oh crap dude....would have been perfect... This is a bit of a after thought on my part...I just got to that place in the build when ya say to yourself..." Go big or go home "....lol...I just really like what i have going on with the truck right now and i would like to kick it up one more notch. But we will see how it goes, if i find something great if i don't thats okay too.

Man, your long box looks awesome! Your pro streeter is so bad azz with a big block, and I love the engine set that far back. Keep posting these pics, it's looking great! PS I hope your 12 bolt lives.
