Re: My new project 86 Silverado
Does anyone have any experience with this place?
http://www.skipwhiteperformance.com As I said in an earlier post, I am leaning toward a high compression 327, aluminum heads, forged pistons, solid roller cam... BRUISER, what do you think about the serpentine kit? could you post a pic of it? or is it all in a box and a hassle to get out You willing to part with it? And yeah I still have my 455, I should have it back from the builder in a week or so

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
Going to be getting wheels soon, just want to make sure I get it right... what backspacing should I use for wheels on my truck? stock 10 bolt flipped, no C notch and Mcgaughy's 2.5" drop spindles. i'd like 10" wheels in the back, 8" front. what size tires would be able to fit with plenty of room, I don't want to have to modify fender wells....
any input much appreciated, I hope my drop spindles get here tomorrow!

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
several (16 so far) pieces of 1 inch PVC x 10 feet long
2 2x4's 4 cinder blocks various T's and side outlet fittings clear 4 mil plastic sheeting will probably make it 16x16 feet... needs more room around the sides... should have it complete in the morning...

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
Your truck is coming along great, you seem to be doing it the right way. I just ordered a set of 2.5 drop spindles today. Are you going to cut the springs at all. I was thinking of just using the spindles up front, I don't want to drop it too much.
When did you retire, I was in Arty for 22 years. |

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
That is what I am going after as well. That is one of trucks that I am modeling my truck after as far as the stance.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado
Yea, lol Artillery.
I think the 2.5 inch I got are from JDM, they had free shipping so they were a little cheaper. I plan to replace every thing in the front end when they come in. I was the one that PM'd you about the shackles. I think I am going to put a set of those on first and see how 2 inches looks before going lower. I like the stance of the truck above, it's not slammed. |
