Finally got brakes done - new drums, shoes, wheel cyl's, SS lines, rubber lines etc...
New brake lines are a pain in the butt. Got pre-bent lines from Classic Ind. they are good quality, but only get you in the ball park. Takes some fine tuning to get them to fit good. Also got new shocks installed Need to install master, then will be ready to stick motor back in.

Master cylinder all buttoned up and lines ran. Bent up a line to run from master to rear brake line. Also bent up a new fuel line and installed, didn't turn out to bad. The fuel filter does not stick out as far as in pic, it runs over the intake.

Getting more done, just basic reassembly mostly, nothing special. All of the drive train is back in. All hoses ran, battery cables etc... Didn't like the way my fuel line / filter looked, so I re plumbed that also. All fluids topped off.
Also rewiring under the hood using MADD electrical's kit, good high quality components, I am well pleased. Today I got my rally wheels painted on the back side, waiting for the rally silver to show up to paint the rest - then to the tire store.

Well she runs
 - some bugs to work out yet. Took it for a little drive, did ok. It will take me some time to get use to the 3 OTT. Engine has some lifter noise, I will adjust those after I drive it awhile. Had about 35 to 40 on the oil pressure, it fell off to about 25 or 30 when hot. Brakes seemed good, at least I stopped when I wanted to LoL. Clutch seemed good, I will leave it alone.Only hiccup we had when getting it started up was no fuel delivery. We traced that back to the fuel pick up. Pulled off the sock, the line was stopped up with crud. Fuel gauge is bouncing around, will have to work that too. pics:

Started working on refurbishing the paint. Got the tail gate done, only took about 4 hours to do. Doesn't look to bad for 50 year old paint.

I'm curious to know what tecinuqe and product you are using to rub the paint out? It does look good. I ask because i started doing this as well to a 65 and am usng Meguairs # 7 followed by wax. I found a article online that had a step by step on how to do this. What i am doing works, but man is it labor intensive.

I am using No.7 polishing compound and Mothers cleaner/wax, and lots and lots of elbow grease. I am doing it by hand; I didn't want to machine it because the paint is thin and 50 years old. I figure time I am done I will have at least 20 hours in it if not more.

I hear you on the "elbow grease". Takes a lot of rubbing to get that #7 off, mine kinda turns sticky and you have to keep rubbing and rubbing. No machine here either. Not sure 20 hours will even be enough. Just thought maybe you had come up with a little easier way.

Well it's been awhile since I have been on here. Just been enjoying driving the truck. Been to several cruises / shows. It is interesting listening to people: "I had one like that", "when you going to paint it", "when you putting in LS", and on and on.
I did change a few things: * the weber ran really rich - I ended up rebuilding the old rochester and putting that back on. Much better, a few bugs to work out. * had the brake master rod too long, wouldn't let the back brakes release good - made an adjustment there. * made a set of new side boards for the bed. * repainted and lettered the old dealer step bumper.
