Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
my plan with the truck is too put it back as original. the person who owned it took to motor and trans out of it 10 years ago and never touched it after because he didn't know what he was doing. I have taken the motor to someone who is going to clean it up, and rebuild it. same with trans. the interior is trashed so I need to order new seat cover, knobs, steering wheel, rubber mat, and glove box insert, dash pad, and ac ducting. I want the truck to look like it did when my grandfather drove it off the lot. I am going to remove the large under bed tank, but leaving the neck in place. the reason for removing tank is I am never going to use it, and would like to remove some of that extra weight. truck is totally rust free, and is perfect for restoration. this will be my second truck to restore. I did a 1966 c10 in 2001.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Just picked her up from a family member a week ago. 5 years without a start. A little Heet and a new battery and vroom vroom!! Carb is shot and obviously needs some body work, but a 68' chevy none the less. Supposedly it is a custom camper edition, but it only has the 307 and no camper markings. 4 on the floor.
The truck was bought by the original owner of the family property and was used solely for hauling grain trucks and other farm equipment. Fortunately for the odometer, the grain processing plant is 1.5 miles away. 28,000 miles!!!! Entirely factory original, including the tires and bed wood. Believe it or not the tires still hold air. Drove about 10 miles on them. Last edited by tlyday; 03-06-2014 at 05:58 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Thanks for the welcome and comments on my truck. There's a lot of nice stuff on here!!!! Looking forward to gaining some knowledge and tips, sharing and whatnot!!!
Here's another pic from today.... Slowly breaking the motor in, thought I'd warm up the old 305 M/Ts

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Here's my '68. Should have my cammed LS1 put back together soon for a change of pace in the truck. Drive her just about every day rain or shine 80 miles round-trip for work. Had a frame-off resto done not too long ago, so no rust!
