It looks good eve the wire gutter is in good shape. I only see a small spot of rust and that is fixable. God job on finding that piece.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

I just wanted to say it's colder than all get out up here so I hope you're outside getting progress done! It got down to 2* last night. This morning the lights in the shop wouldn't come on at all.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

I also removed the pass side part of the cowl looked pretty rusty
in there then I hit it with the wire wheel and it cleaned up nice.
There is some pitting but i dont think its enough to have to replace
any of it. What should i coat this with before replacing panel?
I have some epoxy primer and some self etching but I was
thinking of just getting a rattle can of rustoluem heavy rust coating.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

I like your progress. I would hit it with some Rustoleom Extend or Rust-mort. They do a decent job of stopping rust. The downside is it smells bad when you weld though it

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Rustoleom puts out a builder primer that work great. It dubles the paint on the surface. and gei this even slow down the rust. Did I say slow down well nothing will stop what has already took place.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Made some progress today finished up the pass side cowl replacment.
There was some rust behind fender mounting bracket so I went ahead and
cut a peice to replace rust and shave blower hole.
