Re: 3r!c84 build

i wish i had the money to pay someone to paint my truck. but on the other hand, i wouldnt get the satisfaction of saying i did it myself. i painted quite a few vehicles in my time, so i'm gonna give it a shot. you should do the same. if you mess it up, sand it off and start over. practice on panels. use a cheaper version of paint to practice with. just more satisfaction of doing things yourself, imo

i agree to a point... but i know i'm not a painter. its like asking the guy at the parts counter to bake you a batch of cookies. its not what he does. its not for me. i'm a realist
and perfectionist and i know real deep down i wont be able to get her perfect and i want it to last a good part of 10 years or more maybe if i just build a driver for my next project ill give it a go... 2wd k5

Re: 3r!c84 build

oh if i had the money that you have in your build Dennis, it would be a diff story. even though my truck will be a daily driver, i still would like it to look nice. my nephew has never painted before, but reading tutorials and watching online vids, and a few hints from me, he does pretty well. but once again, we have nowhere near the money that you do. you prolly have more in your brake system than we have in our whole build, or close anyways. that is one sweet truck you have there buddy. but don't cut yourself short. you could probably do it, but like most people, don't have the time or place to do it.

Re: 3r!c84 build

its just our life savings and credit card silver is a 1 time thing... when i'm done i'm offering her back to my pops. (after a year of shows and cruising of course!) i never said it in my build because sometimes i show him stuff on there since he's not too computer savvy. i don't plan on going this deep into the next one. this had just been a childhood dream that i have to do. i apprieciate the kind words. and you know what... I WILL PAINT MY NEXT ONE! what the heck right?
