Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Ok I will try to answer all of your guys questions. The wheels are 22by 10 in the rear. They are full offset so the rear end will have to be narrowed. No big deal. Because the rear end needs to be narrowed I did not want to have any issues with the 4 link hitting the wheels once the rear was narrowed. Money or price had nothing to do with going 4 link verse trailing arms. As far as the floor being cut yes it will need to be cut I will cut most of the center of the bed out. Also as far as bolt in verse weld in it really did not matter to me. Nate sent me the bolt in so that's what I went with. The kit is first class and I don't think it matters bolt verse weld in this case. The rear of the truck is as sold as any weld in notch I have ever done on one of these trucks mostly due to the design. I hope that helps guys. Thanks for checking out the thread more pics to come tomorrow.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Here is the update: the truck frame is at powder coat. Satin Black is the color. I will get it next thursday. Then I will get it back together. The rear end will be narrowed 2 inched each side. So I am making some good progress. Here are some pics with the frame laid out.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Thanks guys
I really like these wheels. They are a little on the expensive side but the milling and polish is darn near flawless. Can't wait to see them up against the black paint.

That wizard polish protector works great. I will be using the same product. I have the rear end at the machine shop being shortened 2 inchs on each side. I can't respline the axles because they are typical chevy axles and they narrow after the spline so I order new axles today. I am going to be out of town for a week so there will be no updates after tomorrow. Also I tore the motor apart and it is not what the guy said it is so I am putting a 500 hp 400 small block chevy in it with forged crank pistons and rods. I am planning on it being chevy orange want to maintain some the stock look in the engine compartment. I will shave the fire wall next Friday when I get home. I should have the frame back together in 2 weeks with the motor. Then the bed will go on and all new stainless hard lines will go in for the brakes. Glad you guys are liking the build.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

What wizard product do you use? Is it the "Power Seal" prudct? I went on their web site but was not sure what product you were intending on using.

How about for polishing dull billet? What would you recommend? I have some billet engine accessory brackets and pulleys that need a good polishing.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Sorry to hear about the engine. But the replacement sounds even better.

How are you planning to shave the firewall? Symettrical? Shave the rain gutter? Cap it 90 or at 45 degrees?

And keep us up to speed if something happens with the burb (to be tahoe)
