Re: Jackalope
And we were sitting on the line ready to go and ............they cancelled the whole event due to rain. Towed the car back to the pits and loaded it up. Next year I guess.

Re: Jackalope
That sucks. I was hoping for a mind blowing record or something like that. Still really cool you were at Bonneville. Speaks highly of how diverse your builds are and your abilities.

Re: Jackalope
Haha great pics buddy, looks like fun. Joe the truck looks amazing, Sam said it was nice but wow, very imnpressive. Especially for a 4X4. (j/k buddy)
So now that I'm back in action after the salt here is a little update for y'all. I cut down the factory column installed a new bearing. I also installed a provision for a new bushing for the factory 3 speed shifter shaft and converted it to a auto shifter for the 4L60e. I machined a splined end so I could clock the shift arm accordingly. Also I installed a steady bearing and 3rd u joint to get the steering to clear the factory GM exhaust manifolds. Cheaper than buying headers. |

Re: Jackalope
Looks good but that joint looks REALLY close to the exhaust manifold...or should I say the heat guard? Any worry it'll "cook"?

Re: Jackalope
Thanks for the suggestion, it's actually a bit of an optical illusion. Looking at it from the front you can see there is tons of room. With the heat shield and the good inch to the bearing it will be fine.

Re: Jackalope
Delmo, you have more restraint than I do. This thread would have 600+ pictures if that was my truck. Now post more pics before I lose it...

Re: Jackalope
Wait, I know what happened! He went to get the rest of the lug nuts! There is only one in that picture.
In all seriousness Delmo, this truck is very nice and I can't wait to see the finished product. those are actually the wheels I decided for my truck, that is why I am dying to see it all together. |

Don't change a thing....it's perfect.
Nice work, Delmo. I can't wait to see it at Dino's hoe-down next month.
