Re: building my first lowered truck
BUMP! finally made some progress on the truck. welded up the rest of the body drop, welded up the cab mounts, and cut the front end off. lol
got it back in first, time for the Z! couldn't afford to do the crossmember. 3" up, 1" forward. oops! just a rough line up.

got about 8 hours in today on the Z first i cut out the other plate and got em welded up then i started sanding, only had one sanding disc left so i didnt get far. looks beast, now i want to redo the back half. lol then i cut all the uneven stuff off on the outside of the Z. going to plate it like the inside.

Re: building my first lowered truck
got the Z just about finished up, just need to do some more forming.
here im curious what the solution is, my frame horns needs to go down 5" and back an 1". that would put the steering box in my radiator. buddy built this sweet cover, he also did the bag job months ago.

Re: building my first lowered truck
Do you want to drop your radiator? Your engine wont be moving unless you drop the mounts too, so technically, your radiator may be in your fan too, and your shroud wont work. What about doing the Z the way you are already 5 down and 1 back, then once you have the body on and the core support in, build your radiator mounts to fit? Would that work?

Re: building my first lowered truck
I have been snooping allot of posts before pulling the trigger on my truck and I have a question about your sfbd. What made you decide on chopping the top of your frame off rather than the bottom? I would assume cutting the bottom would allow you to leave the body mounts alone. Also what would be your guess on the amount your frame hangs below the rockers when all body mounts are solid and new bushings? My mounts and bushings are shot so I can't get an accurate measurement.
