Re: New member with a 1960

A little more progress, the CPP LS conversion kit brackets for the frame are no where near a proper fit, but we fixed that
We cut the center out of the torsion bar cross member, drilled it and remounted it to the stock outer location and the inner frame rail, we are going to weld a bracket back in place to reconnect it and be able to use it as a tranny mount and quick disconnect, in stock form the transmission was hitting the torsion cross member dead center!

A little more progress, below shows what we had to do to the torsion cross member, it seems to work excellent! Headers clear very well, the AC compressor ...well not so much, we are going to have to modify the frame for line clearance !

New Rear Tires

Re: New member with a 1960

I am going to have to modify the wood in the bed for the afterthought of wheel tubs, I am not sure in I should put the when tub flange on top of the wood or sink it and flush the wood up to the wheel tub, it would be cool if there were a trim piece made to hide the gap.
Any ideas or suggestions?

The junk keeps on progressing..... Tranny cooler is installed, AC lines run, supercharger reservoir installed....
Wheel tubs, wiring, and more plumbing to come! I have the AC/Heat vents figured out! This should be interesting !!!!

Re: New member with a 1960

Thanks for the kind words!
Below is the Supercharger coolant tank, it will be hidden in the inner fender with only a billet cap showing from the top side of the fender!

Re: New member with a 1960

Not on a 61 but on a 62. There are a couple of threads on the subject. I used one from cpp that was meant for a 63-66. It was the type where the ends of the bard have a hole with a bolt that goes through and the bolts have bushings around them. I had to drill all my own holes but it worked fine. I am assuming you meant a front sway bar.

Re: New member with a 1960

Another bang the head against the wall moment...... It must be old age catching up with me.
so I have combed over the forum, looking for front/rear sway bar ideas. There are some very helpful threads, but I am looking for something a little more performance geared, after all the hard work I really don't want to drop the torsion setup, I hear people say the torsion suspension will not perform but I cannot see why not, its just that the parts aren't available. I'd like to utilize some nice performance sway bars that will help when attempting to carve some corners in the old junk!

I thought this was kind of neat.... The Supercharger coolant overflow is now complete!
