wow, i guess i'm the only one to harp about being current active military. i'm a SSgt in the USAF. been doing it for 10 years. i am an aircraft fuel systems craftsman. i work in and around the fuel cells and tanks of military aircraft. i have worked c-5, c-141, kc-10, f-16, mh-53, a0-10, b-1b, and am currently working e-3 awacs (707). nobady likes my job. we are the least respected of all aircraft maintenance until they see what we do. it's a stinky job but someone has to do it.

I'm an aircraft maintenance officer, Lieutenant Colonel type... been around for 21 years and currently working at the Pentagon....

Too much time in the building and not enough time to work on my truck....

And I for one think the world revolves around aircraft fuels folks ...

I worked for a major DoD contractor for 14 years in electrical system design of fighter aircraft. Three years ago I joined a small company as the engineering manager. We manufacture corrosion prevention sealants and tapes, conductive antenna gaskets and high reliability wiring harnesses.
Best of all, the work is done here in the USA!

service tech =(mechanic) for Toyota for about 7 years now.
ASE master(6yrs) and L1 and Toyota Master Diagnostic Tech (MDT) for 3 years now. I grew up driving chevy trucks, and working on them, there was just more of a demand for toyota techs than GM. We also don't specialize like the domestic guys, we have to work on all toyota's bumper to bumper, can't be picky.

I don't consider you being at the low end of the job spectrum. In my opinion you are near the top. Without farming, there would be no food for us to eat, no food for grocery stores to sell, less for truckers to deliver, less trucks to build, less truck parts to sell, less workers to build parts, etc. etc. Bottom line is most people would starve or have to become their own farmers.

I live near an area where half the orchards and farms have been converted to large $400,000 and up residential homes. What a change in scenery. Ask Jerry Moss about it.

I work for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. I check for gas leaks and other gas related customer concerns.

I am a Roofer, Currently working for my dad. (not for life seroiusly!)

I try and stay away from new construction. Thoes guys take too long to pay. I make most of the coin in redo work for home owners. Good pay and winters off to work on my truck and when I get a house time to fix it up.

Hard work but it's a Fun Job !

I work for a large general contractor as a Sr Project Engineer building roads an bridges for the Florida Dept of Transportation. I manage a staff to administer the subcontracts, purchase all of the material to build the job and schedule & plan the work. Been doing this for 11 years now and still love it. I have been part of 10 different projects and each one has been unique from roads and bridges to theme parks and buildings. I have lived in 4 different states in the past 11 years from Arizona to Florida and a couple in between.

In my spare time I work on my 68 LWB, at least in Florida I don't have to worry about the winter months.

Powerlineman for a midwest utility company and part time farmer. Nothing better than working with voltages from 120-345,000. Can't see it, taste it or smell it until you screw up.
