Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Hey Wade, do you have anymore pictures of your truck? Also do you have full exhaust to the rear of your truck, or did you run dumps farther up stream?

Wade, sorry I hadn't replied to your message. I'm always checking the website, but I never log on. I've got my wheels and tires, but drops r us and ekstensive metal works are both booked for months. I'm tempted to try it myself!

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Nice engine 72on22's but those rear hoops are huge and looks like it would ride rough with that tiny sidewall, hope not.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
That is always an option. With them bolted up you could take a board and get a straight edge to get a measurement from the outside of the tire to inside the bedside/wheeltub to see how many inches you need to narrow it. When you get that number add 1/2" (lol!). I used parson differential in Beaumont, Tx (409-861-4484, his name is cliff). Took a few weeks. Then you'd be on to suspension.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
Wade, what is the offset on your wheels? Mine are 4.5" backspace, .5" of wall thickness, and 10 inches of lip! Do you remember how much you cut the rear end?
Thanks |

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
My exhaust dumps in front of the axle, not enough room to cross it. It rides good...... on smooth roads, I definitely watch where I go. Yes, the porterbuilt arms are standard length.

What is the backspacing on the front wheels? Also are you running Cpp modular spindles? Really beautiful truck.

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
The fronts in the picture are 8.5 with a 5.5" backspace. The spindles are early classic. I say the wheels in the pic because I had some leaking issues with the 8.5's so raceline exchanged them for some 9" with 6" backspace at no charge. Thanks for the compliment, I can't wait to see some paint on yours, gonna be awesome!!

Dammit man! This is pretty much where I'm going!
Please txt me 956 295 7902, I have some questions if u don't mind. im setting up a lq4 ls swap, cammed, stall, full bolt on. And bagging it out on 24s. Also im not a big fan of staggered wheels. And I was wondering how 24s all around looked like

Re: My 72 with 405/25/24's
I hope to have it at last resort show in Jennings in October. Still working on the engine/trans/driveshaft install and rewiring it (complete American auto wire kit). Thank you guys for the compliments. I've also been working on a 46 chevy for a buddy of mine for the last few years. About to send it home, and get busy on mine again.

I don't know. It's hard to think with my jaw dropped all the way to the floor. Words don't do your truck justice, but I'll try: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
