Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
That’s my plan, but I found out many, many times in the past three to four years of owning this truck, plans change

![]() Ok Rick, I think I told you once on your build thread that buying parts is progress...right? Well, in that case, I have made some pretty good progress lately.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
For some one who is researching for the day that I get my long horn....
Where do you guys find all these NOS parts? Swap meets? Storage sheds at your local dealer? Other members? |

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
I sure will. They were priced steep at 250, but it's the first pair I have seen for sale. I didn't want to take the chance of wishing I would have bought them and never running across another set. I have a very nice original set, but the have the starting instructions on them, which are not 1970 correct.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
Ok, a minute bit of progress. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a hopper sand blasting gun. It actually worked! It's kind of a pain having to keep adding sand, but It worked

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
Looks good. I've been looking at their Soda blasting setups...they have one now for $99 and a coupon for $25 off any total sale over 100 so basically I can get a few more needed items and get the soda blasting complete setup for $74

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
well i may be robbing my 72's engine and tranny and dumping it in my 68 due to smoking problems. i just have to locate a auto tranny crossmember or i'll have to take that from the 72 as well.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
Well, I found a spare hubcap on eBay for my set of NOS caps. All it needed was a little flat black to be worthy as a spare. I know, it's not a lot of work...but hey! It's progress.

Re: 1970 Chevy Longhorn Restoration progress
Tinkering around some more this weekend...I blasted a few more parts. I only blasted the headlight bezels for fun, as I already have a perfect set of black powdercoated ones for my build.
I did two lower fan shroud clips, a Plymouth bracket, and my A/C Heater blower motor. After blasting them, I sprayed them in metal etching primer.
