I'm so sorry! Hope you can get by when you get a chance. I've hardly touched it in the past few months. I am getting ready to get on it again though. See you soon.

I have come a long way since my last post. After my photo bucket wouldn't work anymore I couldn't figure out a way to post pics. If you have a suggestion, I would love to update my build thread!

As of now I need to finish up a little wiring for the A/C, get the drivers side fender hung, install the hood and cowl. Should be ready to go to paint at that point
Already have the inside of everything painted so I will only need the exterior and bed painted.
Still havent made up my mind about what to do about the interior. I have been going back/forth from aftermarket or recovered seats and door panels.
Thanks for checking in!

I still see all your photo bucket pictures... so they MUST like you....
If not you can always add pics by using the "Manage Attachments" button and uploading them direct to this site. They have size restrictions but at least we can see what you've been up to.

As far as seats/upholstery. You are obviously not stock so you could probably sell originals (if you have them) to someone who is restoring a Blazer and run late model front seats with a Tahoe/Suburban 3rd row in the rear. I love the leather (or vinyl) sides with a highlander plaid insert.

Follow the link for some inspiration on the interior.

Re: 72 Jimmy "Colonel Mustard"

I wanted to wake this thread back up. I took a long time away from the build for various reasons.
ive been back on it for a few months and it was towed to the paint shop earlier this week. Hoping for 1-2 months and I can start assembling it for the final time.
i still dont know how to post pics and any advice would be appreciated.
I want to update the progress to catch me up from my last post.

Decided ion houndstooth for the seats. Really happy with how they came out. New buns, sandblasted and painted frames. The guy did a great job.

Some progress pics. Hydro boost and plumbing. Dakota gauge set up. Computer and misc upgrades. I do like that we incorporated the brake pedal from the donor. Matches the gas pedal.

Re: 72 Jimmy "Colonel Mustard"

Bought these cool, period correct side step replicas from ironmike. Love them! I made a simple studded bracket for extra support inside the rocker boxes. They feel rock solid

Re: 72 Jimmy "Colonel Mustard"

I feel like I drilled 1000 holes for all of the trim, emblems, seats, roll bar etc. the new floors, doors, fenders and bedsides only had the essential holes. Improved my skills though.

Re: 72 Jimmy "Colonel Mustard"

This is what I decided to do to make the seats fit the new floor. They only sold a new truck floor so the seats didn’t line up.

The door panels look great! Everything is coming together nicely! The controller for the gauges is bigger than I expected.

Re: 72 Jimmy "Colonel Mustard"

Front bumper needed some love. Sanded, prepped, prime and some chrome paint with clear coat to finish it. Happy with the results.
