Pic 1 Still have plenty to do, glass, door panels, etc.

Pic 2 With top on, still needs to be covered.

Is the stuff that looks like Wainscoting (the stuff you used for the door and back panels) also the same lauan wood material, or is it actually regular Wainscoting -- It turned out great. It's a cool idea.

It's the same lauan material, each piece is cut separtely, then glued to the first panel. Post #291 shows how I drew it on the lauan, then I had to cut the pieces. Post #293 shows the individual pieces, temporaryly screwed to the first panel, until ready to glue down.

Pic 1 shows a small piece of the lauan

Pic 2 This is the glue I use, it can also be sprayed with a sipon paint gun.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

I went for about 5 years without doing the top interior. I had been working on a rebuild for a good friend (more on that later). Anyhow here is the build on the top interior.

Pic 1 I had about 80% of the interior thought out, except for the corner pieces (that's another reason for taking so long). What I finally did was take some poster board and form a piece in the corner and cover with 4 layers of fiberglass.

Pic 2 The other side. (both of these pieces are held in place with the Xmas tree type plastic clips)

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Jim... I always enjoy looking at your truck and am glad that you finally got the top completed! That looks absolutely awesome! I can't wait to see it in person at the streetrod nationals! You do absolutely marvelous work! You are the Boyd coddington and Chip Foose of southern Mo! To watch you work is parallel to watching a heart surgeon work on a heart attack patient! Thank you for this thread and sharing your talent!

Thank you for the very kind words. Compared to some of the builders on this site, I'm just an average joe........Jim

Hey oldman3 did you make it through the storms ok? My sister lives in Joplin 4 miles from the path of the tornado.

Shannon, thanks about the trucks. Helped a couple friends on their 47 and 41 F**d coupes. Helping son with his AD build now, will let him post on that....Jim

Thanks so much for the compliments. Been watching your build for sometime as a guest, before I became a member, and also on the HAMB. Like the way your doing yours.....Jim
