I'm gonna follow this one for sure. RED gets my vote or red/white two tone with woodgrain mouldings. Looks like you're on a tight budget Love all the custom parts, and how it looks like it only takes a few minutes to tweak the cab like you did.

Unfortunately, another high profile builder is putting the finishing touches on a 69-72 swb 'touring' ride that's red (orange?) & white 2-tone. Wouldn't want them getting confused.

I've yet to see a 2-tone OE light yellow though.

you gotta think when choosing a color for a project like this (as Rob is doing), it's gonna be photographed for likely a LOT of magazines, so bright contrasty colors are pretty important. Second thing, i'll also bet its not going to be wearing trim or any superfluous stuff period since Rob's trying to keep the weight down to a minimum. If one was to choose colors strictly on someone else's build or colors that has been done, there wouldn't be any colors left to choose from....not to mention EVERYBODY has different tastes....it's heard to please everybody.

I'd say Porsche Guards Red or Chevy Victory Red with either a silver or gunmetal grey cage/chassis. Chrome and black accents thrown in. With a nice "No Limit" logo on the door....

I agree that bright, contrasting colors are important for getting 'noticed' by the various media sources. But when you know of another build that will be debuted around the same time (most likely before NoLimit's K10), on the tracks @ the same time, & a very similar color it would be wise to factor that into the decision process if you're not commited to a certain color during the initial project phase.

As for the 2-tone ideas.... The reason many are drawn to these trucks are their classic appeal. Adding trim does add weight but it also adds to the classic appeal. One could do the OE looking paint scheme w/air-brushed trim if ultimate performance is the main goal & still nail the 'appeal' factor.

Knowing there will be another red/white truck of similar build quality on the tracks, I would opt for an alternative OE color scheme. The yellow/white OE 2-tone look (or solid color) would also work well w/the silver or gunmetal grey cage/chassis & chrome/black accents you suggested.

It looks great, do you know if it has thier IRS in it? Hopefully we can match it up with the 'Bullit next season, to see a chassis to chassis comparison, of sorts.

Some updates. Here's a shot of the front suspension mount for the rear axle. This will allow me to try some different ideas. Next is a shot of the door skin I made. i'm slow at sheet metal, but it came out good.

What's up with all the holes? That will confuse them, after seeing your bar mounts I'm not worried about my ride height at all. Finished rear end mounts shock mounts pretty close to done, sway bar mounts next waiting on parts hint hint, I know a colorist if you are still having problems picking out a shade for your new toy!

Ha, holes don't weigh very much, so I can have a bunch of 'em. Parts on the way. If I used your 'colorist', I'm afraid I'd loose the silver, - on my head. Glad you figuered out how to use the new electronics.

Thanks, We really thought about that, it was my first choice. Most editors have warned us not to. We are really thankfull for all the press the 'bullit got, way more than we ever thought, but we've been told that they won't do that again for any 'non photogenic' color. It may have been the color that kept us out of Optima this year, we heard, "it doesn't film well, no matter how fast it is". So it's 'live and learn' time. It's looking like we'll be the guy's with the bright yellow one

i guess that makes sense i understand there trying to promote the sport but kinda seems off that they have to like how your truck "looks" so you can go fast in it

the new parts look great but uhhh im gonna ask the dumb question what is that crazy looking thing in the pic under the control arm?

OK Rob here's a sneek peek on the ground for the first time. If I had it to do over I would go the route you are going working within the confines of the stock frame rails and the stock fire wall has had and is still having a lot of challenges. How are the wheels coming? I need to change my offset in the front I missed the mark by 1.5 inches with a 315 front on an 11 inch wheel with a 4 1/4 back space you can make it all work with minimul fender mods. Have since got it back on table blown apart working on bed sides was kind of a shame to cut up perfect long bed sides to make them work all I can say is I'm glad scrap steel is bringing good money! more to come
