Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Well, i have made a little progress this week not near what i had planned. Still better than being at work.
Dropped front springs in. Supposed to be 2" drop looks more like 3 plus, which is ok. Drive shaft figured out, now it needs to go to the driveshaft shop. Instrument cluster plug reppined for the new electric speedo cluster. I succsefully made that hour long job into three hours. While i was tracing out the pins on the old cluster the fedex woman showed up with a box, while dealing with that i managed to get confused when i went back to work on the cluster. needles to say i had a bunch of pins in wrong place and took a while to get it straightened out. Drilled and tapped the passenger head to 3/8 pipe for the temp sensor. Rear shackles should be here tomorrow. I'll try and post some new pics tomorrow. |

I dont know how far ya'll are from Grahm, but theres a place call'd K&N between Grahm and Breckinridge. I've bought 3 Suburban grills/core support assy's from them. the last time I look'd at there web site they had a couple on hand.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Here's a few new pics.
I installed the rear shackles, they are a 2" drop and removed thre leafs, probably will add helper bags later. Installed 2" dropped front springs, looks more like about 4". i hung the fenders so i could see how it looked and get the fusebox and aircleaner mounted before cutting in the fenders. Long boarded the fenders and bed and reprimed for the last time. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
What is the length of the rear driveshaft center cup to center cup now and is that where you will take the 14 inches out?

But to answer your question yes you would shorten the rear half, the front length shouldn't change. |

I got a little more done last night. My new fuel tank came in yesterday, 31 gallon burb tank from rockauto.
Got it all mounted up and made some new crossmembers. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
Well i didn't get a lot done this weekend, my son had a basketball tourney.
I did get the driveshaft in only to find out that i just had 2 & 3 gear. I had read that when using the underhood fuse block that the trans had to have power to it from a different circuit. I had it hooked like i had read, but that was for a 2000 model harness and mine is a o4. So i found out what pin fed the trans 12+ and traced it to the fuse box and fed it 12+ from adiffrent source. Now it has all foward gears! I did have a buddy of mine give me a set of aluminum wheels. The only problem is he had them chromed and someone did a crappy job. Most of the chrome has come off. I am going to get them powder coated either silver or chrome. |

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"
I was just poking a little fun.
I have watched you build very clean truck to start with, and that dash is looking cool I guess the passenger side of the windshield or the heater core has been leaking for a while. The jute was still wet and it hasn't been outside in a couple of months. |

And thanks, wish I could find the time lately to get something done. The kids or the wife seem to have something on the go everytime I turn around. Think I've only been in the shop for a couple hours in the past month now...ughhh!
