Re: My 1952 truck.

In case anybody has been wondering, I am still alive. I have taken a break from my truck for a long time. Bought a bus and toured around the great US of A. Looking around for my final nesting place. As I write this in sitting in Arizona catching up on project I have been following. Some awesome work out the people. I haves lot of travelling to do this year again but the good news is I am motivated to start working on my truck again. We will see how it goes.

Re: My 1952 truck.

I did restore a couple bikes I had. Guess I needed to step away from the truck for a little while.

Its always good to take break.... and find focus (as they say in the photography world)... Truck is looking pretty sweet!

The script style CHEVROLET on your tailgate, is that raised aluminum or what? Looks real nice like that.

Re: My 1952 truck.

pct, I took an old corvette valve cover down to the laser cutter. Had them cut me one 3' wide out of 3/16 stainless. Then I traced the outline onto a flat piece of metal. Then drilled holes within the outline, put the script in place and welded from the back. Then I cut out the original script and welded new script in. After paint I will sand the color off the script before it is cleared.

I like those Honda Dream's. That is a Dream isn't it? I'd like to pick one up for my wife.

Yeah it's a 1966 Dream 305. Same year as me.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Well now that ride height and bumpers are all on, it is soon time to come apart again. Few things to do before I take it apart though. Fabricate a tunnel under passenger inner fender for AC/heater hoses, hook up shifter cable, trans dipstick, figure out battery location, fuel pump location, throttle cable.....oh boy. Truck has a static suspension and needs to come down another inch or so.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Why are my pictures sideways? I had no problems before. Maybe because I had my phone sideways when I took it? Got my fuel filler figured out today. I wanted it centered near the rear. I am changing that cap as I hate it. Took the wood out a final time.

Well, it was a little closer to being the right rotation. I give up.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Yeah today I had to rework my ac/heater hoses. Kicking myself for using s/s braided lines. Miserable things. I am still in mock up stage after a two year break so I'm itching to take it apart and start finishing work. Not sure what is going on with my pictures. Sorry about that.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Been fighting with aligning up my hood and fenders before I can take truck apart. I had to fix bottom radius on drivers fender to start. Hood refused to line up. Had gap in center of fender 3/8". Shimmed up front can mounts 1/16" and it was better. Found broken rivets on hood allowing flex.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Took out grille again to see WTH is going on. Figured out my problem. Had to move front of drivers fender out almost 1/4". Now I'm happy with hood. Need to install new cable latch then fix radius at the front of both front fenders so they line up with hood. These fenders did not fit worth a damn.

Re: My 1952 truck.

Are you using the fender braces that attach to the firewall? That is the easiest way to remove that gap

Re: My 1952 truck.

I can't find mine. I'm pretty sure they will clear the supercharger but my AC compressor is going to be a problem. I may have to build some as I want them in. Gives me an idea though. Maybe fab up a fancy brace.

Re: My 1952 truck.

nice work, as for the pics. do you hit preview bf you post? If it is clocked wrong, you have to edit the photo and save it then re upload the photo. If you take the picture initially turned sideways or upright etc, its going to clock your picture in that way. So as I said you need to edit it. Which (I4 user) you can actually do on your phone, edit it there bf you upload it to your computer. Or if you have any type of editing program on your cpu, you can edit your photo there. Its all an easy fix, you just need to rotate your images and save your file bf you upload it to this site.
