I don't have the measurements in front of me but I moved the clevis up 1/2". That was as far as it could go and still get full stroke on the MC given the pedal/floor room. Add to that the fact that the s2000 weighs 33% more than the Minx (2800 v 2100), and I expect the pedal feel to be somewhere between power and manual brakes. Should be fine, but I can always make improvements if needed (that's my standard answer if you haven't noticed ). That's good to hear. I've never driven or been a passenger in one, so I'm not sure what to expect. I know they're quick and the drivetrains are pretty highly respected. |

You will need some wide tires in the back. I shift right below the red line 8,000. The engine really kicks in at 5-6000 rpms. 80 miles an hour in fourth at about 6500. Fun, fun fun.

Well, I went with a higher (numerically lower) rear ratio 3.73 vs. the S2000's 4.10, combined with a lighter overall package I'm hoping the 235/40/17's will be just about right (they should break loose when I want them to).

Proportioning valve? I'm going to use the S2000 prop-valve since I will have all the other brake components from the car. |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
I've been doing the mortgage broker scavenger hunt for about a week while I should have been in the shop!
I've been out there! I've even taken a few pics ...But nothing worth showing by themselves. I started making the initial cuts in the front frame rails for the S2000 rail sections to go in. I also removed one of the inner fender braces and jacked up the inner fender a little bit in the process ...but all is fixable. More to come. |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Well, I got one frame section removed and one S2000 section trimmed down and nearly fitting. I took pics, but the computer is tied up at the moment (I'm using my phone), so I'l post them tomorrow. It's not very pretty to look at right now. Kinda reminds me of the time I had a gaping hole in the side of my Burb : LOL:

Pics of carnage. The last two with the S2000 section sitting there are just that; sitting there. It will be moved outboard another couple inches.

You sure have a puzzle there. Looks like some good progress.
I need to do something like that to my VW "NOBACK", but I would like to put a flathead in the front. Keep up the great work.

That NOBACK is cool man. I'm hoping one of my kids will get into veedubs so I'll have an excuse to play with them again.
Mine is a big puzzle right now, but it'll come together. |

Arghhh! Between yours and LFD's Tahoe builds and now this I will never get any work done here at the office. I will need to hire someone to work so I can read more builds!

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Even though I called it the clown car I do dig it. Especially now that its gunna have motivation and carving abilities.
I was curious about the shifter and what your doing there. The box part you cut off so you could shorten the shaft going back on somehow in the new forward location? or is this something you can fab up a suitable replacment? As always your doing killer work. I do have 1 tiny request though. Ditch that ugly black roof rack and find somting in chrome or stainless. Kinda like old VW roof racks. It would fit the car way better than that "euro trash" looking one. lol I guess the whole car is european though isnt it. EDIT: dont worry bout the rack till after the swap LMAO

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
i like the roof racks. they add to the sleeper look. also they are a nice place to store the hood i am looking for roof racks for my nova too. that way i can strap 2 surfboards on the top of it and cruise the breaks here.
