Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Does that mean it will have a rake to it,like XXL's or do you normally cut more in the front?

Are you sure about this? Usually trucks have a slight rake from the factory to compensate for loaded beds. Since yours is a custom lowered truck(I'm assuming your not going to build a rake into your stance), I would make the roof level with the floor. |

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Not to divert Justin's thread but,,The roof on your self proclaimed"Wallet Eater" looks to my eyes to have a forward rake. Is this true? It seems,to me, to almost look like the roof is bent down in the front.. Did you use the aforementioned method?

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Yes, there's a real rake in the roofline. In addition, the front glass has been raked back a couple of inches at the top.

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
well heres another update got the hole roof tack back on and started putting it back together...
I used the peice i cut out of the side of the door, for the gap above the door... passanger side driver side and piecing back together the front above the windsheild. Im leaving the drip rail to retain a stock apperance, still more to do here (sorry for the blurry pic)... (The piece of wood is supporting the four roof edges) More progress later this week.... Justin

Re: [Project] "Fnlow69" PART II
Very nice,
Justin, Ive been following both threads on this truck, its gone through some serious mods. I think the (2" rear // 3" front) off the top will be the perfect amount.Subtle and in proportion. It already looks good.I think I need to get this book you speak of.. You young skilled guys make things look so easy. You had said, probabley a 3/4?? Im guessing you went w/the original plan of 2/3...?? Last edited by Inverter; 09-08-2009 at 02:01 PM. |
