Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
I really like the PB setup and do not think you could go wrong. As for interior I am just running a stock bench set cut down a little as for the rest of it there is none currently. I wanted to go to goodguys really bad so I pulled a couple of wires to make it run and have lights and someone let me borrow a cheap guage panel . Smart phone for a speedo.
As for the 2 peice drive shaft. They are some very good ones out there that will hold up, but on our truck I cut the floor and raised up the tunnel to clear a 1 peice. Quote:

Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
First off, congrats to you and your son for completing such a killer truck!! I've been scouring this forum for years and although I've seen some insane builds over those years, THIS one hit THE spot!!! Exactly what I want to achieve with my truck. Super cool!!!!

Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
I hate that I have been bit by the GoodGuys autocross bug.
I swapped out the front tires for a set of 265/35/20 BFG Rivals last week and have paid my entry fee for the columbus event, hotels etc....and swapped out the stock diameter steering wheel for a smaller unit until i can get a 15-1 rack. If all goes well at that event and I am for sure hooked I will get the forgeline wheels ordered and the 315 tires all the way around. Then its out with the bench seat and in with a set of racing seats. Man what have I done.!!!!!!!! |

Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
We swapped out the front tires for a set of 265/35/20 BFG Rivals and took our truck to columbus for the goodguys autocross this past weekend. I must say it worked really well and the back tires could not hang with the fronts this time around. Much easier to drive with the backend loose than having the fronts sliding around. We were not the fastest truck there by no means but we were the fasted in the truck class and got to bring home a nice award and award packet.!!!!! Now to get some more money made so I can get new wheels and tires and make the other changes that need to happen so we can somewhat compete in the PRO class. And learn to drive of course.

Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
What spring rates did you end up with? How do you like the ride/handling?

Re: My sons dropmember C10 build
The best all around spring setup for the street and what little bit of autocross we are doing has been 650lbs up front and 225lbs out back. The truck rides really well and handles great. I plan to go up to 700lbs in the front and 250's in the rear to see how that works.
