Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
I did get a few things done both front and rear brakes and bearings all finished.
The ring gear that came was for the small carrier so once again it will be Monday before we can take a shot at that. |

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Looking good, sorry to hear about your bad luck with the rear gears
Are you going to use disk brake backing plates (dust shields)? I am about to do my front suspension and have noticed a lot of people are not using the backing plates.

I would have used the brake shields but one was already missing so... I too, had noticed some don't use them. I mean do they really do much anyway?? I cheated on all the little stuff and soaked it in metal prep and then shot it with the caliper paint I used on the front. I'll keep my old USA springs instead of the new chinese stuff anyday. So far the only metric thing I have are the motor mounts! Thanks everyone for the comments updates coming soon!! (I hope) |

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Thanks Chris. Maybe one day we can meet up at at car cruise/show with the trucks in Virginia or Maryland.
Have you ever been to the Ocean City Maryland car cruise in May or Oct? There are a lot of awesome cars & trucks that show up. Close to 3,000 cars register for the May cruise and it sells out but there are thousands of non registered. It is worth the trip if you have not been.

Wow Chris! the bedliner looks great. I'm digging the exhaust too. Very similar to mine I think. Can't wait to get where you are at on your build.

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Great shots of the bed and exhaust. Looks like you are doing a flush mount brake booster too. Is that true? If so, that is a lot of fun.

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Here's a better pic of the booster... I posted a question on the general thread about it. It's not flush mount... but still fun for me as my knowledge of brakes is a... zip, zero notta.

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Ah, yeah, I can see that now. Thanks for the clarification. And yes, I knew little to nothing about brakes when I started too. Somehow, you get really motivated to figure it out when you know you are going to be the first to test drive the truck after its back together! If you are not getting your answer in the general board, you can post your questions in your own thread too and someone may know the answer to help ya out!

Re: 72 Not sure what to call it yet resto!
Here is a link to the Sanderson site.
http://www.sandersonheaders.com/Sand...eader-Set.html The ones I have are the cc10-apdp (angle plug heads with d-port). I don't think you will find that listed on there site. I ordered mine after some research thru ECE. They fit perfect!! And allowed me to run the entire exhaust thru the frame so I can continue to go lower if needed in the future. Early Classic has the best prices on Sanderson I could find so if that's what you want give them a call. |

I need slosh tubz!!! No $$$$ left for this project thou... maybe when I decide to bag it later... 56 Crown Victoria hard top... I will post a pic I like the show wheels specially for the price. I'm going to drive this so no high dollar stuffs like the big dogs run. I was wondering how the lettering would look... I don't mind it too much the engraved area is not painted black on these so it's less of an eye sore. I like them. |

Lake Anna, is that line-x on the floor of your bed, I just did a Bed Rug type bed liner from Gaylord Lids on my 71 which is the same color as your's and I put an extang revoluation tonneau on I'll try to attach a picture.
