Re: Bagged project progress

nv3500, er one of the variations of it. I think it came in s-10's and behind the small v8's in some 1/2ton trucks. So hopefully it will work fine for me, just gonna work out the slave linkage on it (it would drag on the ground as it is right now). Im starting to realize that if i ever want to actually drive this thing I gotta stop coming up with more ideas of what I wanna do.

Other than that just got the front clip on and trimmed the fenders so it can lay out. looking for pics now but im not sure what I got.

Im chasing a dream right now, so I kinda had to leave the truck behind... but hey ill get it done someday right?

Re: Bagged project progress

Direction change again =)

I got a buddy who likes to make stuff fast- so I stumbled across this...

we got started and got that done in a night- still plenty left untill it runs though.

Also got the bags plumbed in soft copper with flare fittings, worked great and ended up looking alright. Wired up the switch box and mounted the battery behind the seat.

Got a 67 hood, lines up good with the GMC fenders, and I just need to make a piece to fit in between the hood and grill.

finally laying frame and able to get up all on its own

Enjoy!

Re: Bagged project progress

ha, yea the tranny idea got tossed out the window- keepin the turbo350 untill that blows up too.

I have a feeling that im gonna have to build a new engine/driveline once this is on the road. but untill then its gonna stay at around 6psi to keep it all from becoming a million little pieces

So if anyone wants the tranny let me know.

I got all the work done in a week, and then had to leave again. Seems like whenever I start to get on a roll I either run out of cash or time. not fair!

Thanks for the comments!

Re: Bagged project progress

Oh and I forgot the best part. As we were working on it my dad came into the garage looked into the engine bay, and said "why are the headers backwards?" hahahaha - it took all my friend and I had to keep from falling over laughing. Ya gotta love it!

Re: Bagged project progress

yea, shes a pretty awesome girl too... always says she wants to help but never manages to show up

im back in TN now but im trying to scratch up some cash to finish the turbo set up, and the brakes.... bah! who needs brakes right?

I miss workin on the truck already, I didn't even get my full fix in over the holidays.

oh and another funny note is that my dog does not like compressed air. That or a truck jumping around in the shop was a little too much of a shock for him.

Re: Bagged project progress

What tie rod ends are you using to connect the mustang rack to the spindles?

Re: Bagged project progress

Well- after searching for a tie rod end I couldn't find one with the right taper, and I didn't want to buy the reamer. So the tie rods are stock and the adjusters are TIG'd to the mustang rack.
