Re: My '51 Project

I just read this entire psot.. love the truck and the build, i would love to see what the c notch looked like when you finished it.. Did you just notch the frame or did you cut it and installed the big C?

The truck to me looks 100 times better without the visor.. I too was like you , love fooliing with beetles but now i am onto my 53 that I will have on th eground...

Re: My '51 Project

Thanks 68 & Swifty

Ivel
I got a suspension package from Zigs Hot Rods. It had the Heidt's front end, TCI 4 link, brake booster and all the lines. It was nice just dealing with one source and I think I saved some $ with the package. The motor mounts were made by my friend that did all of the welding. It was very close but the tranny fits right under the floorboards without modification.

Boosted
I ended up only boxing the rear end. I did not need a C Notch since I was keeping the stock bed height. The rear end hits the bed before you need a notch.

Re: My '51 Project

I just saw your truck and totally dig what you did with it! Mine's coming along and should be a driver, shortly. Hope to see you out cruising sometime! http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=320546

Re: My '51 Project

Wished I coul've met you and seen your truck in person. I'm about 1 hr. North of Santa Maria, so you must have passed through Paso Robles if you took 101.

Re: My '51 Project

Many people were calling it Paso Maria. Looks like a good show, but you can't beat the Paso cruise night!

Re: My '51 Project

Yeah, I was bummed when the snooty people of Paso told us we couldn't host the cruise anymore. I try and stay clear of Santa Maria. Too much riff raff.
