Re: Project OverKill
So Blackened Silver Train is TOP SECRET. LOL
Make sure all those grease fittings are in easy reach so you don't have to much OVERKILL involved in greasing the front end.

Re: Project OverKill
LOL...not really.... I wanted to do something really cool other than the standard black. Lil' Red's frame is a bright silver...So....painter bud Jimmy mixed it up. What He says is.... it is a combination of Silver, a hint of Purple, and and just the right amout of Black. Sorry I can't tell ya better.

Re: Project OverKill
I did GatorHyde's monthly billing today and finished early...so dealing with the frame sandblasting de-bockal...I felt like tearing into my rear end. New 5 lug axels on my list and a nice Eaton Posi coming soon....along with a Glock rear disc set-up!
Axels out!

Re: Project OverKill
The sandblaster is an ass...no quetion about it. Someone just told me he is Bi polar, I don't know this for sure,...that might explain it...but it doesn't make it right. His business name is : Surcore....and I will NEVER NEVER EVER have him do any work for me again.

Re: Project OverKill
The quote was $150....he up'ed the bill to $350....I agrued and we agreed to meet in the middle at $250. The work is nice, but his business practice is terrible. I too, am glad to have it back and will move on the the next step of my project, never again will I use Surcore sandblasting. To all other's get your quote in writing, had I done that I would have had a legal document, I trusted his employee's word. Which was worth poop!

I was told yesterday that my frame will be all painted and ready to pick up this Wed. the 10th. Excited and ready to bolt up the front crossmember. I needed to weld up the front underside of the frame before it is painted in this area. PO used the factory holes in the frame as "Tow Hook's". Not too bad for my first welding attempt!

Re: Project OverKill
Very Nice!! I can't do that, I wouldn't want to get it dirty, and there are just too many non-paved roads I travel.

Re: Project OverKill
Well yesterday...something came to me...and...I have completely changed my mind... the 383 small block plans are giving way to a BIG BLOCK. So I will be selling all my small block related parts towers, alt bracket, sbc front lowering springs...you get the picture.
