Hey Dino, I haven't been here for a while. That is cool that you bagged that truck. Cool idea, I have a truck that I would like to lift, but I don't because then it would not fit in the garage. You may be on to something there. I see so many nice lifted trucks (that ride like crap) sitting outside because they won't fit in the garage. Anyway here are some more.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
slick65, Glad to see you made it over here. Can't wait till you go digital and post some clear pics of your truck now and when it is finished, it looks like it's going to be a tight looking truck. I also like your buddy's suburban. Did you see my '65 big window in the 1st post? There are not many 60-66 4x4's in Arizona. Here are some more pics.

thanks a bunch for the welcome. yeh i do need a digital camera bad! yeh i like your trucks too. i hope dino isnt getting mad that were posting all these 4x4s! his 2 wheel prerunner idea is genious, never even though of it myself. huge respect for doing it, cant wait to see it all tricked out. are you gonna do any custom fiberglass bedsides or front fenders?

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
slick65, this is a thread that I started, so Dino will not mind. Even if you post your truck on the 60-66 forum under Dino's thread "Something different 66 long travel truck" he will probably be cool with it. Your question about fiberglass bedsides or front fenders would be best to ask on Dino's thread, I don't know how often he comes over to this thread. The 60-66 forum, members seem to be more interested in slammed and rat rod trucks more than 4x4 trucks in my opinion. Tell us a little more about your truck. Is it an original 4x4 or converted? What engine, transmission and transfer case are you running? What size tires and what are your plans for paint color.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
oh ok got ya! still definatly new to this stuff! but yeh i see everyone more into the lowered stuff which is cool to, i got lowered stuff also, but this was my first car so i have a soft spot for it. bought it when i was 15. umm alittle about it, it isnt a napco 4wheel truck. has a early 70's blazer front end. the frame and orignal 12 bolt rear are still under the truck. the front is a dana 44. i have a 350 bored .30 over with all the polished goodies. ( wish i did it different ) but i did the motor and trans about 5 years ago. still doesnt even have 5 thousand on it. it has a built turbo 350 trans with the np 203 transfercase. i got a part time kit for it im gonna throw in here soon. 4:10 gears front and rear. 35. 12.50 .15 bfg all terrains. it had a bit of rust when i got it, replaced the front fenders and grill support, the floor is getting patched piece by piece. replaced lf rocker. it had those ugly side tanks on it on both sides i shaved the doors back off and got rid of the reverse lights. also the tail gate chains are shaved. thats preety much where it sits. want to do either hugger orange with the white stripe inbetween the trim, or red with the white stripe. not sure yet. the inside still has that orignal greenish color.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Here is mine in El Mirage Dry Lake in So. Calif after some huge rain storms we had back in the late 70's
It used to be a fleetside but, I slid it into a tree on a wood run in the mountains. I did not have the money for a new bedside at the time so I traded to a guy for his stepside. |

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
I found this interesting, how a 66' Chevy SB 4x4 and a 66' Ford SB 4x4 are similar in body lines, aluminum grills up front and rear bumpers. These pics are of my Chevy and a Ford that belongs to a friend of mine. I have tried to convince him to move over to chevy's, but that's a big argument so I don't think that is going to happen. I hope this thread doesn't crash because of these pics of this Ford. And please don't shoot me.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.
Those 1/2 tons came with a single speed Dana 21 t-case till 76. Ford 4x4's never had disc brakes till 76 either. Fords better idea! I think not! Lots more 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevys than Fords sold in those years. Chevy gave you more for your money.
