Re: Project: Mistress
So I spent Sunday afternoon wet sanding this valve cover....it came out pretty good....I wet sanded starting with 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, and finally 2000 grit wetordry 3M paper....
I still have the other one as shown what it looked like before....and the air cleaner cover to do....I also picked up the Ryobi 8 piece buffing kit from Home depot for $10 (as suggested by Heath 'my67chevytruck'...thanks)... Once complete....I need to paint the finned area.... Now here's my dilemma....My truck is a sunburst Orange Metallic, and my engine block is painted Chevy Orange (I know it looks weird, but I guess if I ever take it out I'll paint it the body color).... So should I leave the finned area black? Should I go ahead and paint it the body color? OR should I paint it Chevy Orange?

Re: Project: Mistress
So I stumbled on your build thread yesterday and I read the entire thing....very entertaining. And what color did you decide on for the V/Cs or have you decided yet? My vote is for black...it would set the orange off a little no matter if it was body colored block or Chevy orange block. JMHO.

Re: Project: Mistress
I joined around a week ago and decided to look thru the build threads and happened to pull yours up first and I really enjoyed all of the posts and updates and photos. The color and truck turned out fantastic. I am leaning towards the same color as a two-tone with the top the sunburst and bottom a gun metal grey or close. Great job and it was a joy reading your entire build. Thank You.
