Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Just pay shipping. We will call the part even being since the other patch didnt work for you. I could probably get them in a $10 flat shipping rate box. I did cut the passenger side already for my project but didnt use it. How much of the passenger side do you need? Let me look at your pics again

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
was wondering, this is a question more for the bagged burb guys. im trying to get my air tank mounted across the frame in the rear, but it looks like tank will hang down about a half inch past my stock gas tank. i cant put spacers because of the big ass square d pressure switch. is it going to be ok hanging this low?

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Get a smaller or skinnier tank, or just hit the switch when you are going to drag the rear!!!!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol. well the thing holding me up from making spacers to raise the tank is the stupid pressure switch. i bought a square d switch so i can run a edc, but im switching to electric compressors so i wish i would have bought regular pressure switched. the square d is huge compared to the regular ones. it hits the frame so i cant raise up the tank.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
finally some progress. i was off all week and didnt do squat til friday. it rained pretty much all week. soo after 4 hours on friday, a few hours saturday, and few today heres what i got.
i started on the rocker and it just got worse. i planned on having the rocker and a pillar all welded up after this weekend so i can start on the driver side this coming week. well after pulling off the a pillar to line up the new one, i found rust on the floor board, kick panel, that box on the side of the firewall (i dont know the name lol), and then test fitting the rocker panel i found more along the floor board. so, heres some pics. decided to make it easier on myself and just take the damn door off lol, and the fender. a pillar rusted out.. kick panel and some of the floor cut out.. and welded up..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
that box on the side of the firewall
welded up.. i ended up shaping it a lil better and put some spot welds in it then sprayed it with a rust enamel.. and heres the floorboard rust i found today, which really ticked me off lol. already welded it all up. and heres the a pillar tacked and bolted on so i can hang the door and play with the rocker. the rocker doesnt fit great at all, but it was free. it was full of surface rust so today i went to town for about an hour to get it all (well most of it) off. then i shot the backside with some black rust enamel paint. tomorrow i will scuff up the whole edge up the floorboard, shoot the same rust enamel paint on it, then hopefully i can finish up the rocker. i can already tell from today that its gonna need some splicing to get it right. gonna be a pain the ass but well see what happens i cut up an extra hood i had to use for the filler pieces, nobody wanted it and it still had good metal so i put to use. the little holes along the edge of the inner rocker panel is from me jamming a screwdriver between the spot welds and going to far lol. so be careful when you do this, its not that hard to poke a hole in that metal.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
lol, I think the rocker replacment is the trickiest one to do. you buy a rocker, wait you also need th a pillar. now your kickplate is bad. which now leads to some floor rust..lol. it just spreads like wildfire. I sure hope the driver side is better.

Don't worry. Just take your time and get all of the rust, it will teach you patience.
Your doing a great job.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
a little past due but im just about finished the rocker panel on the passenger side. didnt line up great at all, had to splice, weld from the backside on some areas instead of spot weld...but i think it turned out ok. gonna need some filler but i think it will look good. heres a few shots..
the gap toward the front was a little smaller, so before i put some spot welds i pulled it down and it helped a lot...at least it looks better to me lol. the gap looks a little funny in the pic, but its the angle of the shot. i do want to get my gaps a little tighter when its all said it done, but thats long from now, probably just before paint. the factory has horrible gaps on these rigs... and this is what i have to figure out. it doesnt contour the a pillar very good, so i might have to splice it there or just cut up some scrap metal and fill it in...any ideas? thats it for now. gonna finish that litle section in the morning and then i will probably start ripping into the driver side.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
little more of an update. i know all this is boring, i cant wait til i get to finish off the suspension and get my motor in so i get to driving!
anywho..i found a small rust spot in the corner of my door, and some surface rust along the bottom so i cleaned it up and welded in a new corner. coated it up with rust tough enamel.. my new parts came on, so instead of moving on to the other rocker (i need a break from that!), i decided to fix the rust on the passenger side door jam. i thought i would just cut the whole piece out, and a little of the roof. seemed like the easiest way. heres a horrible picture of the rusted spot..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
here it is cut out.. a little tough cutting this spot out. 3 different skins tie into this area... here it is tacked back together..of course i shot the insides with rust tough enamel.. shot from the inside.. gonna try to get it all welded up today then move on to the dent under my tailgate.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
not a real update but it was ugly outside and i needed something to do. so i made my compressor bracket today. found some 1/4" plate behind the house an cut it up into 2 pieces, then welded them together. its gonna mount on the side of the frame.
this little welder was chuggin. turned out ok but you can see why i dont want to weld in my step notch lol

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
little update, nothing major. i finished up the door jamb/roof rust repair. finished welding it up, grinded it down and shot some rust enamel on it. just needs a little filler work and its ready to go.
the inside.. gonna try to work on the tailgate hinge area this week if i can. the truck is getting dropped off next weekend to have the notch, bridge, and shock tabs welded in (hopefully!)

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
got my cupped control arms, drop spindles, and shock reinforcement brackets in this week. also dropped the truck off with adam from river city hot rods in sugarland to get my notch, bridge, and shock tabs welded on. i figure i would get the suspension ready to bolt in when i get the truck back. the drop spindles are not getting painted. i sanded down the arms and shot them with rustoleum hammered black, and i think they came out pretty good!
before.. during... and painted...
