Thanks for all the comments, I hope to get tank, carpet, and seat in tomorrow if epoxy is dry enough.

Re: 1971 GMC lwb to 1968 chev swb project
Looks very good. I have the same project going on. Started a few years back and it's a driver now but far from complete. My brother gave me his worn out 71 GMC lwb and now it's a 68 Chev swb. The rust on yours is in all the places I had to patch. Looks very familar.

Yes, that's one reason I started to visit this site again. I haven't been a regular for a few years but getting ready to install a chevy rear end with trailing arms on the Studey. I knew I'd get some good ideas/inspiration on this site.

Re: 1971 GMC lwb to 1968 chev swb project
Get the door back on then I'm taking the truck to get an estimate to get the front half painted while I fix the box up. One way or another it will be all painted by spring. Still dying to drive it this summer. Been busy again redmodeling the house I think the inside will all be done now and I can get back at truck. As for snow, ya its here about 6 inches but the weather has been warmer than usual. Hope you get all your body work done by spring too. Will yours be painted this spring also?

Re: 1971 GMC lwb to 1968 chev swb project
Here is the passenger's side door painted and installed
As you can see I still need to paint the seat frame, they sure look like an eyesore. Here is the frame painted now, I couldn't stand it so I painted it right away. Just for curiosity I took the third picture with a 10 megapixel camera, all the rest were 8 megapixel and you can see the difference. Now I see why some phone cameras at 2 megapixel are not as clear. This is the drivers door painted, I kept these doors white on the inside to match interior and black on everything else that would get black overspray when I paint the truck. Installed and aligned drivers door.

Re: 1971 GMC lwb to 1968 chev swb project
Nice progress man. I'm lovin' that Lee Storm Rider jacket as a Drop. I still have mine out in my shop for cold days. No one in the States knows about those. At least not where I am.
Good Job on the Truck! Do you have any shots of the whole truck?

Okay here are a few I took today. Also I have been looking at your build Mcbassin and I wish I had the money to do it all right like your build, oh well maybe after a few years but right now all my money is going into paint as I am getting quotes tomorrow.

Hold on to your socks when you get them quotes; they'll be rollin up and down quicker than you kin grab 'em! It takes alot of manual labour=time to straighten out an old truck and make it nice.
