Once you get the cross member welded in it will be down hill from there.

Re: AD Truck Project

Got the shipping notification. Should have my spindles on the 25th!. I wish I had planned better. Memorial day weekend would have been a good weekend to put the cross member on. We have some more work to do on my dads before we can try and get my truck in the shop.

Re: AD Truck Project

The nicest thing about having the new projects and builds sections is you get to see builds you somehow missed. Good job man.

Re: AD Truck Project

I guess it is better to take your time and build it like you truly want it. I am trying to do mine in sections so I can get it rolling faster. It will start out looking kinda warn but functional. Enjoy it and get it mechanically sound, then worry later about paint and all that.

The white late model crew cab is my daily.

Re: AD Truck Project

So.. would it be wrong if I put a spindles between the upper and lower arms and worked it up and down while making noises like I am hitting switches?

Probably ok as long as you don't make the noise that squirells make when they get squished as you "roll" along...

Re: AD Truck Project

LOL... my crew cab valence has ended the life of a few unlucky possum. It barely clears a parking block, so a possum looking over its should has no chance lol.

I listen to everything but country. Mostly electronic music.

And now to make this post Joe approved :P

Re: AD Truck Project

For the front maybe slam re6's or re7's. From what I have read they have good lift with less pressure, so you can get to ride height but not be super stiff. I think the firestone 2600s are pretty similar too.

If anyone reading this has any opinions on what bags to use on an AD with a v8 and mustang II, please feel free to chime in.

Re: AD Truck Project

I did not get my rearend moved down to my folks. I did get my other shock ext welded up on my crew cab, now I know that I definitely need new shocks lol.

This week I am going to take the leafs off my s-10 rear end to make it a bit easier to handle and take some measurements for the perches. If they are too narrow or far apart I will probably go ahead and cut them off before taking the rearend down.

If anyone reading this knows.. how long are the stock rear leafs on a half ton AD? I am wondering if I can just use the s10 leafs to start with until later when I can do some sorta 4-link.
