Two weeks later we had our regular Lucas Oil Divisional Race in Memphis Tn. Man I was still hot too . I gave up the stripe in the finals by a few thousands.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
In the Year in Review issue of National Dragster they had a little section called Quips and Quotes . It was mostly Pros but I was one of the few Sprtsman Racers that got in it . They had come by the trailer in Chicago and taken some pics . They said they didnt know what they would do with them but to my surprise they got used .
They miss quoted me but what the heck I thought it was cool .....

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
On to 2009 .... I had no idea of the exposure I had coming . Our board buddy MarvD got his 2009 NHRA Rulebook before I did and sprung it that I made the Super Street page . I felt really honored and it was also the last printed version of the rulebook .

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
In 09 it seemed like nothing could go right . i started out the season breaking a lifter and not even making first round . A good friend insisted I fix it and offered to help with the money part . Well I patched it up and was back to racing by the next race . I didnt do much to speek of in 09 but I did make one final . I lost on a breakout though ......

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
The 2010 season is going pretty good . As yall know I built the 665 and the truck is running good this year . I have had some tough losses at a couple races but I almost made the finals in Houston 2 years in a row . I lost 5th round (semi finals) . I went to third round in Tulsa and left there in 3rd place in division points and tied for 1st in Jegs points . The next race will be either Bowling Green, Kentucky or Topeka Kansas at the end of August . Im trying to figure out how to maybe get one more out of division race but time and money make it tough . Theres an outside chance we may go to Reynolds or Atlanta Ga but with races close together and all the miles to and from it makes it tough .

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
I probably would be leaning toward Reynolds . I have been there once and loved the place and the poeple . Ed and Dorothy , Lamar , and Tim . The Atlanta race is in early September and I'm tired of racing in the heat already. The Reynolds race is in October (when I would rather race) Maybe you could bum a ride with ol Brian Funderburk .

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well it looks like we are going to Topeka (8-27 and 8-28) . It is a Fri-Sat race , I like running at night and that gives me all day to get home Sunday . I have been trying to upload some video but havent got anything done yet . Anyway if any members come to the race come by and say hey ! We will be way out past the finish line in the last pit area .

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well guys Topeka wasnt alot of fun (except for the non racing festivities). My first run was slow and it just seemed to get slower . My generator was giving me fits also (ugggh no ac at night) . My first round opponent had devine intervention on the door ! Musta been becuase they pulled him off the starting line for a leak and a got a competition bye run . Good thing becuase I went a 10.98 but I was .008 on the tree . After that I noticed my battery charger after over an hour was still at 10 amps on a 10 amp charge . I figured the batteries were junk but couldnt do anything but hope for the best . I lost second round with a .033 advantage at the line I was .020 he was .053 the truck just wouldnt run right . We tested the batteries today and together they didnt make enough amps for one battery . I was in 3rd place 3 1/2 rounds out of first when I got there and left in 5th place still 3 1/2 rounds out of first so it aint over yet . I may drop the Nationals in Ennis so I can go to Georgia in October we will just have to see what happens in Belle Rose La in 2 weeks ....

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well it looks like the season is over for The Blue Truck ! I had more problems than I thought . The head gaskets were giving up (completely between #5 and #7) and there is some of the piston missing on #5 . I'm not sure if we got some bad fuel or what !!!! Anyhow the truck is done for the year . I may go to Belle Rose ,La next week and drive one of my buddies cars and if I do I will run it in Noble Ok also . It will be next year before the truck runs again......

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
