Re: 72 c-10 shorty
well I got the truck back to home base and got the door frames finally painted white. a couple of guys from work came out and helped me start cleaning up and polishing up all the glass and vent window parts. thanks to josh and mike! I can tell theres some time here to be spent installing all the vent seals. all the engines wiring is run and ready for final install. still debating on what I want for a carb. anyway its all forward movements I guess.

As for the pictures they look fine on here, must just be the camera screen making them look yellow.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
got my wheels ordered up on Saturday! thank you Mikey!!! got a screaming deal on a pair of 18x8 for the front and 20x 10 for the back. the rears have a 6 1/4 back space so I believe all should work out well. I went with the lighter silver color for the rims. debated on going all chrome, but think this is more of what im after??

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
well its been awhile. Ive been busy working on customer cars and havent had any play time for me in month or so! sooo that being said, I have ordered my new tires, which should be here on friday I hope!! I was wanting to order the porterbuilt crossmember kits front and back, but haven't heard back from them, so I decided to change my course and keep on moving forward. I live is a small town where parts always have to be ordered, so patience runs short on waiting for replys from other companies. that being said, I ordered everything for the front to rebuild it. I have new drop spindles and springs on there way as well as shocks, new calipers ect..... in the back Ive ordered a c-notch kit,an adjustable tracking bar, springs and shocks. I think I will build my own trailing arms, really not much to them. sooo my wife suggested to me that I take the left over money from not buying the crossmembers and buy my twin turbo set up ive been dreaming of for some time! I love my wife!! she just so gets the car thing!!

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
got my order from scotts today! new rear cross member, shocks and relocators, adjustable track bar,5inch springs, new spring cups, u-bolts, c-notch kit,and rear sway bar. Decided to replace most of my box. the box sides turned out great so I will be using them, but as for the rest I dont have the time to spend repairing it.
ordered new box wall, tailgate, inner wheels tubs, all the box cross sills, a stainless bolt kit, stainless wood strips, and a new tubular trans cross member. still no sign of my drop spindles and springs yet!! Broke down and bought a new flaming river steering column two inchs shorter, with the over drive indicator and tilt of course, wasnt going to do this, but after all this work I feel that a tilts not asking for much! |
