I'm not saying that a 69-72 front end is horrible, just don't think it will flow right with the you smoothing everything.

I agree with you 100%. The 67-68 is a much better look hands down. I've got some pondering to do. Thanks for the input it is very appreciated.

I'm a big fan of the get shorty build. There are cues that drive me nuts about the over all look but at the same time. I like looking at it... Its crazy.

I'm not the same way. The truck had SOOO much potential, and they destroyed it. Especially with the tail lights and interior. I've seen the truck in person a couple of times, its jaw dropping.... at first. Then when you start to look at it, you can see where it could have turned out much better. My favorite parts on the truck are the pancaked hood, grille, and bed floor. The rest is just a lot of work to build a uniqely ugly truck. (Sorry to the owner if they read this. Just my opinion)

Id lay the top of the hood back just ever so slightly not as far as the 67 and 68 but somewhere in between...

I like the gauges! Both pancake and lay back hoods look good. I was thinking of pancaking my hood but need clearance For the super charger so I'm going to lay it back.

I personally hope you keep the 69 clip and grill. I think it's the best design of our year trucks. Of course I'm partial I have a 69 and a 70. I have owned a 67 before too, these are still my favorite. Just my .02

I checked tire racks web site for these tires on a 20" rim. The largest the chart went was 19".

Cut out the drivers side. This Texas heat is already crazy! Just cutting the floor board wore me out. I still have some floor to remove that is spot welded to the braces. I just set the new pan in for fitment. Hopefully I can get it welded in tonight.

I wanted to take a look at the inner area of the rockers and was relatively pleased with the shape it was in.
Pic 1 is a crappy freehand cut with the plasma and you can see all the filler "fall through" from the PO.
Pic 2 is the filler "Fall through" piled up and ready for the vac.
Pic 3 is after I stopped being lazy and laid down a line to cut on
Pic 4 shows how surprisingly clean the inner area is.
Pic 4 I tacked the new pan in for support before I cut the remaining door area out for replacement.

Up till now, all the work I have done is meat and potatoes mechanical stuff. A few mods here and there but nothing all that different to set my truck apart in a crowd of C10's. Over the last 6 months I have been tossing around ideas and trying to come up with a direction to go once I got to a point in the project that would be seen by everyone.

I guess I have been waiting to be inspired. The discussion about grills and lights and the different opinions really lit a fire in me to be creative. And really it couldn't have come at a better time, I'm around the corner from taking on parts of the truck that will be seen.

Originally I decided I want my truck to be elegant and simple. Kinda how they built them in the late 90's. Now I'm adding a more modern element to the mix. Sinister.

I used photoshop to create a concept of the lights I found and a grille idea that is elegant, simple, and sinister. I'm very excited to get started on this idea.
