Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"

This is over about a months worth of time, gauge cluster installed, shocks on, still need 1 more AN fitting to get the tranny lines
installed. Four core upper mounts are from Sharpie, tks dude.

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"

I still need a outer grill,(mine is toast, it's just beat up to crap) & wheels and tires, before this thing gets on the road, might be spring before this happens. Funds are low, so we will see. Probally will go with a set of rallys, 15x7 front & 15x8 outback, 255/60 & 275/60.
Then onto the interior, but i can drive it without any carpet or dashpad..LOL

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"

2 swap meets later and still no grill that is in any condition better than mine, so I am going to try and make mine work so I can get it(truck) on the road. I am sandblasting the gloss coating off it, will get some of the dents out, then sand it down with 320, then use some steel wool and get it as best I can. It does not look to bad......thoughts?? (sorry, just some cell pics)

Man I think that will work out for you, I know its hard to put parts on that have flaws after spending all the time getting everything purdy, but I bet you can get the grill lookin good. You can always pick one up later if you find a better one. keep up the good work !

Re: Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"

Just read your thread pretty impressive and very nice work. I have the same problem with my grill and I'm also going sand blast it then I am going to put a silver base with a light transparent blue on it where it will be just a slight tint then clear it, not sure what I am going to do with the letters yet but you don’t have that problem.

I hear ya, the shiny paint does not look too good next to the dented, dull grill..LOL Thanks

That is another great option, I am going to just leave it a brushed finish for now, I'm not sure how long the grill will stay looking good, since its bare aluminum now??? Not sure if it will tarnish quickly or not. Thanks for looking.
