Re: ls turbo build
Just an FYI(not bashing your setup bc it works too) but a 4150 style TB and an Extreme Velocity Carb Hat will get you some better numbers. I am going to go that route but with a Super Victor.

Re: ls turbo build
Thanks... I've checked into various ways of doing the intake and tb. And on the turbo forums and yellowbullet everyone with turbo setups that i've been talking too have said the way i have it is the better way. Just need a spacer to get the air to transistion better in the runners.. Plus there is a truck here in oklahoma making around 1200 to the wheels with an elbow and spacer.. It's on street outlaws... Personally i don't know.. But this was a pretty cheap set up that i bought used...

Re: ls turbo build
I've heard it the other way and I have also heard of the spacer to help staighten the air out as well. I can't remember the company but they make some damn good elbows, when I find them I will give you the link. I can't decide on what intake I want to run it's either the ProFlo or Super Victor/4150tb. I'm probably gonna stick with the truck intake until I upgrade or hurt the motor. I can't wait to see results, I have been itching to work on mine but I have only been here in Japan for 5 months and I have another 2 1/2 years to go. FML

Re: ls turbo build
6061.com is the site. Supposed to be the best flowing elbow. BTW I wouldn't have passed up that deal either. How did you route your fuel lines? is your regulator before or after your fuel rails?

Re: ls turbo build
After the fuel rails.. Ill get some pics. up later... I was also going to go with the proflo intake mainly because it looks bad a--. The only problem i had with the fuel rail plumbing is one of the sweeping 90 deg. elbows was going to interfere with the back of the alternator. SO i changed it to 90deg. elbows to shorten them up.. Have truck acc...

Re: ls turbo build
Cool build. Just got my LQ4/4L80e last week. Debating now on H/C/I or cam and turbo. Goal is less power than yours is going to be. Can't wait to see the results.

Re: ls turbo build
Looks like the exhaust manifold on the passenger side will not work with this ac bracket... will any other manifolds work?

Re: ls turbo build
What manifolds have you tried? I have also seen where guys cut the stock flange off and weld a different type connector or just weld a short piece of pipe and then you can use clamp style connections.

Re: ls turbo build
Pretty sure Wasted used a Vette manifold (ZOMGVETTEPARTS!!!) on the passenger side with a vband flange welded on.
Sorry Wasted but couldn't resist using the ZOMGVETTEPARTS!!! from your build thread!
