Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hi Everyone, I'm Jonathan in Albany OR. I'm the second owner of a '63 swb, my great uncle bought it new in Fresno CA and I bought it from his wife after he passed away. My dad and I did a rebuild on it while I was in high school, now I'm rebuilding it again - rust sucks!
Started life as a 230 six banger with a 3 on the tree and 3.73 rear. With the first rebuild we swapped in a 350 with a T5, bucket seats, drop spindles & springs, and discs up front with a booster. This time around I've dropped in a 454 with a T56, 4.11 posi, aluminum radiator, all wiring's been replaced and updated, moved the gas tank to under the bed, c-notched the rear with 2" drop blocks, custom gauge cluster, and a sweet new paint job. Been at it for about a year and a half, I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel (kinda). |

Welcome man, good lookin truck. It's good that you kept it in the family. I'm a Fresno native, born and lived there for 41 years. Do you happen to know which dealership he bought it at? For Fresno it would have been Hallowell in Clovis or Frontier in Fresno.
I had several family members that worked long time for Hallowell. My Mom worked for a F*ord dealership in Clovis... Always lively family banter.

Hello, my name is Jason, These were taken on the night I drove "Maggie Mayhem" home.
I didn't pay the actual amount on the windows, the engine had a high RPM knocking that the guy didn't know about. Talked him down by 700. I have found that she is a "Johnny Cash" truck. Part 64, but mostly 65. The cab and title are matching 65. |

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hey and thanks. They are 20s and a bit of a pain with manual steering but I've finally gotten everything together for the PS conversion. I'll be doing it just before Christmas. I was unsure about them at first but I like the way they turned out. 22s would be sick. What offset to tuck those in there or are you without wheel wells? Love the shade of blue on yours btw.

One of these things is not like the others! Nothing whatsoever like the others! Let's not forget... Larry Walker, Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Sid Crosby, Rick Nash... I could go on, but that would not be very "Canadian" of me

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Member Introductions
Hi all! My name is Mike. I have a 1966 stepside longbed with 3 on the tree and a straight 6. I picked it up from a co worker. It needs some serious work, but I plan on working it as time allows. My goal is to put a 400 with a modern 5 speed from a 93 or later 1500 in it. I want the classic look but reasonably modern drivetrain.
From what I have seen so far, I don't think I am going to have an issue with tech stuff now that I know where you guys are! |
