Re: my "71 C10 project
Got the right side blocked. I have just a few small spots to glaze and about 6 inches of one seam to work on. Seems to be turning out great!

Re: my "71 C10 project
I got (what I hope is) the last bit of glaze on the bed body lines tonight. Thursday I'll work those and get some epoxy on the spots (only a couple) I sanded through. Saturday I'll scuff and put the last coats of slick sand on and on to the 600...then paint. Here we go!

Re: my "71 C10 project
Hi Rex,
The truck and all the work your doing is coming out great, nice metal work there. We had the 69 out for a spin yesterday and up to starbright to drop off a few pieces to have chromed. Love to stop by and chat some time. Happy Holidays Scott

Re: my "71 C10 project
Sounds great! I should be home around 5. I'll give you a call when I am on my way. I have the heat on the bed so it should be good to go. Maybe even get the epoxy on tonight. That would open up Saturday for some final sanding/blocking.

Re: my "71 C10 project
Took some time away from the body work. Pulled the front off and sandblasted everything. The surround actually turned out great. Thinking about going with a burnished chrome look. If it turns out the way I think it will I'll do the bumpers the same way.

Re: my "71 C10 project
Thanks! I really like a clean white truck too. The paint that is on it had a pearl in it. Looked awesome under street lights at night. I think I have a scheme cooked up that may be even better! I'll start playing with some detailer's tape soon to see if the lines (teaser hint) will turn out the way I hope they will.

Re: my "71 C10 project
Just to prove I am making progress...here is a pic of my tailgate I just finished. Well I got it in epoxy anyway. I'm going to refurbish my tailgate band and add that along with the tail light trim. That will be about the only bling it'll get. I'm painting the middle of the band (no woodgrain) the same color as the base...which will remain a secret for now...
Posted via Mobile Device sorry...don't know how to orient the pic right. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: my "71 C10 project
I've made a little progress. I got my cables and hardware ready to go for the tailgate. Once I have it mounted I'll post up more detail. I want to be sure it works.
