I know your busy, but who supplied the gas cap and bed strips? The cap is very clean for middle of the bed, I've still got the huge hole to reach through.

The bed strips are just te stainless kit and those came from KMS tools....strips and boltkit. The gas filler well....thats a bit more of a story. I tried a few and not much worked like i wanted it ....I was in the shop working on the truckand the sales guy for fortons came in and said he might have a solution and 2 days later came in with 4 choices. I will find out who makes it for you because my 65 needs one and thats not far off. It's a push down and spin to the right then let go and it pops up.Everyone that has seen it in person really seems to like it....i will know when i put gas in it...lol

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

That's what I thought, flush mount pop up style. Good to here KMS has the strips, half the battle here is good local suppliers. Good to hear your going to Phoenix that would be a great get together. All like minded C-10 guys.

Your truck is looking great! Is that a passengers side dash from a mid year Corvette I see laying on the floor?

They are brass.....and they were done about 15 years ago....They go with the look I was looking for. Thanks for all the comments, this build is beating me up pretty good..lol...I can't wait to get back to a carb and throttle cable.

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Are they brass plated or are they actually formed out of brass. They look to be exact shape of original.

Your pics are too fuzzy to be sure, but it kind of looks like your door weather strip might be on backwards. I always look at that because I made that mistake on my last truck, a 69 Dodge, and it was glued on. It also cost twice as much as a Chevy door seal.

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

They are bass plated .......
And yes I did put the weatherstipping on backwards.....atleast I think did..But after trying it on both ways I decided to pull the push pins out and put it in that way. I didn't like the way it fit the other way,and those push pins sucked...It's not ever going to come off and seals fine. So it's staying that way....lol

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well it's been crazy.... I went to Barrett Jackson in Vegas and that ate up some time I should have spent working on the 58..... Plus I bought another 66 so to much to do and more and more all the time. well the vintage air kit arrived today and I made a huge dent in the install and started getting the belts onto the pulley's .Dont hold me to it but it sounds like the tuner guy is showing up sat night or Sunday to see if we can get it fired. The sema vette gets first slot my 58 the next slot..... So crosses my fingers..... But I have a ton more to go yet, all the fluids and rad hoses reinstall the ac lines and charge it . Grease everything up... Carpet and stero install..... Bunch more wiring..... But I put the call out for all the help I could get......

No doctor required....I didn't buy a thing at barret jackson but i should have...there was some pretty cool stuff there. There was also alot of junk that looked like it was spray painted the day before the sale.....lol
Thanks that trailblazer setup has been fighting me all week but it's so close. I pulled 3 full days on it from 8 am till midnight buttoned up most of the AC and wiring....ya the stereo is so not going in until it runs and moves.
