Re: Devastation and Reform - abused, beaten, and botched yet unrefined 67 SWB
These guys have been slacking off way too much so I put some octane booster in their coffee. The following is what they got done today
First set: Modified the tilt column and installed, gauge panel in, high hump bolted down, floor put back in along with seat

crack-a-lackin on the exhaust, we'll get some hangers to support it but after that it will have to do for now

Re: Devastation and Reform - abused, beaten, and botched yet unrefined 67 SWB
That's what I am thinking! Good job! Now get back to work!
We actually are in hurry up mode as we are going to be moving soon and so it's getting put together quickly now. The exhaust is a good example of that, not how it's going to be but good enough to make her a driver.

Re: Devastation and Reform - abused, beaten, and botched yet unrefined 67 SWB
One other thing we found when swapping in a wider 71-72 rear end is the brake hose is different. Autozone had one for $45 so I ordered one off Ebay for $21 coming from Nevada so should be here in a couple days.

That's a ton of work! It's beginning to look whole again and the interior looks sharp! Strange deal on the brake hose back there.... I can't remember where I made the break, but it was a straight across affair.

I do. Seller has no current listings but here is one that they sold just a bit ago, you can probably contact them. What I can tell you is the cover is very good quality. I'm very happy. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1428

Re: Devastation and Reform - abused, beaten, and botched yet unrefined 67 SWB
Today was taking care of details day... hangers for the exhaust (with zip ties will do until we have more time ), got the vacuum port and line for the booster and hooked 'em up. Did a proper wiring of the HEI and the new alternator and fixed some other wiring.
Drained the gas from the tank and got some fresh put in and went to fire it up, but nothing. Battery had been sitting on the charger for quite a while but only put out 10.4v so I realized that our inbred PO probably bartered for it from some crack head. Off to Autozone, back with a new Optima While son was hooking up new battery it dawned on me why no crank. We jumpered the neutral safety and it fired right up Sure sounded good! Even my wife liked it! No brakes yet or he would have taken a ride... soon, very soon!

Re: Devastation and Reform - abused, beaten, and botched yet unrefined 67 SWB
Back to work!
Actually, my oldest was hitting it hard again today. Long frustrating day at times but some good progress in the end. I'll post more in the AM but here's a quick couple of pics. Needed a throttle linkage, couldn't find my old one. So it may be a bit overkill but a cutdown Lokar auto trans linkage looks pretty good! Disregard the clip on the rear stud... a temporary measure.
