Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Last but not least, a few before and afters.
At this point most of the heavy fab is almost finished. The frame just needs core support and shock mounts. A bunch of the components for running the air/fuel/brake lines are on order. We're going to get the cab pulled off in the near future to finish the massive amount of welding. More soon, thanks for looking! |

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Been awhile since an update, but don't worry, we've still been working!
Since the last update got the fabricated front sway bar installed, which I dont think we took any pictures of, and then worked on getting everything we could bolted on the truck to take to a show in the middle of August. Loaded up morning of the show! We got it loaded up at 10pm the night before, lots of last minute things. At the show! The truck got picked for Best Suspension and Best Underconstruction! Jason with his awards. |

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
After the show, the truck went back in the garage and got completely blown apart, so we could finish up the chassis and build up the engine. Whats left is the shock mounts, fuel lines, air compressor mounts, exhaust mounts, and probably 12 other things we have forgotten about.
You can see the tube that the sway bar mounts in these pictures. Everything stripped and playing with the exhaust layout. We didnt really take any pictures of the engine, but we honed the cylinders, put in new rod bearings, gave it a general going over pretty much. The big changes were a Texas Speed 228r cam! The heads also got rebuilt, stiffer springs, titanium retainers, new guides etc. Cant wait to fire it up! |

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
In the last few weeks, Jason was able to pick up a t56 for 500! We got that mounted, added an x brace in frame, built the transmission mount off it, and have been working on the exhaust. The exhaust is 2.5" stainless from the headers back and will exit through the bedside. Its all getting tig welded, and is turning out pretty nice so far!
The first piece being tacked on. Drivers side tacked together. Passenger side tacked in. View from above. Shows off the x brace pretty well too. Thanks for looking, will have more soon! |

A T56 for five bills? Care to double your investment?
Great build, I'm definitely following along. |

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Small update, exhaust is all tacked and mounted minus the rear section. The front bag mount gussets are done as well. We've just been working on finishing up some loose ends of projects to finish up the chassis, we're aiming to be able to start the engine next month. Next on the list is getting the hardlines run for fuel, the engine accessory drive and the wiring.
For the accessory drive the alternator and power steering pump will be high mounted. For the pump we got a CTS-V bracket, GM type ii pump, and an LS1 camaro pulley. |

They're just Magnaflow universal stainless 2.5" mufflers.

Is that the mid-rise or high-rise and is your motor raised? Seems closer than normal to the wiper cowl.
