Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
We'll see if it works now.... These were taken in 1990 at Super Chevy Sunday at Sears Point Raceway. I almost got killed because I got second place in the square body class with a truck that worked for a living. It's black with blue pearl. It was one of the trucks used a the 1984 Indy 500. I don't remember if it was one of 13 or 17.

Thanks, I liked that truck. If you have to fix it, it's only fair that you get some cool parts out of it. LOL

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
well, i guess the wife is not the only girl in the world that likes me, one of her co-workers cleaned out her basement & gave me these
the '55 & the vette are new, somebody primered the chicken body & the bimmer has a nice coat of red on the body. the vette body has a huge factory flaw in it (missing the dr. rocker & part of the fender...quality control??) but it's a 2in1 kit so it has a butt-load of cool parts that i can use, i dont have a an '80's 'bird so i will keep it, already got 4 '55's & there's no space on any of my shelfs for a euro-mobile, so i will prob. trade them. also got this "thing" from her too, i dont do 1/12 or foreign, so i dont know what i'll do with this. it's un-built & had this hot wheel size 300sl in the box. dont know if it was included or someone threw it in there. prob end up in the crawlspace with the only other 1/12 i have. my neighbor gave it to me about 10 yrs ago with half an inch of horrible red (pink!) cracked paint, i re-did it kinda as a rat rod until my son (he was 2 or 3) got his hands on it, been downstairs for the last 8. just dont have room for foot & a half models... |

Hi dieseldawg
You're just a model making work horse. I may not talk a lot, but I love watching your trucks come together. |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
yeah, it would be different, thats for sure. already gathering parts. it's a do'er!
scratched up a fuel line, tranny & engine dipstiks, a dropped swaybar & some throttle linkage. some quick lockin' hubs & valve stems on the rims hoping to get the body painted in the next day or so, little more block sanding... and yeah i know what i said about furrin cars, but i was looking at the Big Money Waste & it turns out to be a motorized kit, bonus! start looking threw the box for the motor-not there, bummer. started reading the instructions, bottom of the first page "MOTOR NOT INCLUDED PLEASE PURCHASE SEPARATELY" huh?? so i figure i will do a quick curbside of it using only ONE color on the whole kit, should only take a few days. then i will park my blaze on it.... how i got it, except for the airdam & mirrors |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
as promised, hunk 'o junk. what a crap model, no detail anywhere, no nothing...tried to go all black, but the taillights snuck in some color.
didn't detail it at all, didn't even try to do nothing to it, it's just a car...last look like this. as Dale said, crush it & park the blaze on it pretty gumby...(lookin at them tires i think i need to dust off my bench) pretty underwhelming... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
I may be weird but I like the yellow. Maybe it would settle down with the middle section on the body painted white....

Yep, I like the yellow. It settled down with the addition of the other parts. It looks great.

Hi Guys, I've slowed down on forums for now, life keeps getting in the way, long boring story. Anyway, I have several more 8th scale motorcycle models, but I haven't found the time to work on them yet. I want to modify one into the "Captain America" chopper and I want to make a Harley Drag bike out of another, one of these days.. I've been tinkering with a Tamiya on-road racer (TT-01E Datsun 240Z) and another semi tractor truck, a Tamiya Globe Liner Kit. I might do a thread if either of you are interested. I love the Blazer dd. It reminds me of the RC Blazer I built a few years ago. |
