Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
Dome light should be orange wire and white wire, running from the light switch up the front door ("A") pillar then around the top/side to the dome hole. Don't pull the wires out of the pillar, it can be a challenge to get them back up there. If the headliner is out and the wires are AWOL bend up a wire and start fishing down between the inner and outer cab above the door, you should hook them. I had to do this when I used the old wires to pull in the new harness.

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
The old Factory dome light was a Single prong connector like on the ignition switch. How do I hook it up? What end do I need
Does one of the wires go to the fusebox? if so the wires are way way too short

To a well known truck place around here, about 40 mins away. I'm going to buy the Door parts next.Next week I am going to hopefully get the truck in my name Officially !!!
I'll get a new Front bed panel as well. Just can't wait to see how all of this looks after all of the welding work

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
With the title in hand it should not be any problem getting it titled "officially" in your name. If you have someone else doing the welding make sure all the old rust is removed and not the new panel layed over the old. I've seen that before.

Quote:
ground wire from the dome light goes back to the light switch white ground for dome light if you add door switches hook them to the white ground for dome light there is no fuse in the circuit only the bimetal spring for overload protection that protects the brake and tail lights if you need to run new wires to the dome light use plastic strapping like what is used to strap packages for a fish tape run it up the drivers side windshield pillar and pull 2 wires down

No clue on the dome light, GMC must be different than Chevy. Maybe just on or off with no dimming???

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
Just went out to crank the '59 it started up with no hard start, and you could press the gas.. Looks like H-A's and Geralds old truck is on it way.. Trucks about to be in a News article so stay tuned !!!
Pretty excited for all of this to happen Sent the carb to a Fellow member on 55-59 Chevy trucks, and he rebuilt it and the truck cranked right up. I can't wait to cruise in it tomorrow and see what it does

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
Bought another Tail light and just got done installing it
Now they match one another Bought a front fender patch for the right side I've dropped already close to $300 in parts in this thing...still have a ways to go Here soon I'll have to buy a battery tray for the truck, the one that is on it is wrong for the year or something, according to some truck people Truck still isn't getting gas, Buying another long rubber fuel line to see if it fixes the current problem The truck has come a long way since buying it back in November 10th, 2013 The truck is also in my name..got the title the other week.. Me and the truck have a unstable relationship at times, but I won't give up on it
