Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
FYI - I posted this on my build page, but I will post it here to. I installed new weatherstrip (glue on) on my left door, had to really slam it to close. Long story short, I studied on it for awhile and did some checking, noticed the door seemed to hit hard in the area near the latch down to the seal plate. I took a 2x4 block and a BFH and SLOWLY worked the pinch weld in a bit in that area. What a difference ! Still have to slam the door, but not near as hard. I will wait to see what happens over time, and make any "adjustments" as necessary.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
Check out the video that I posted on youtube under the title
"1964 GMC-New weatherstrip and latches" The door closes and latches with just the weight of the door, no more slamming. Honda weatherstrip and Altman easy latches. |

Damn! I just ordered from them after I thought they got some in. I canceled about 3 - 4 weeks ago when they were backordered. Hope I don't get floor mats.....

I'm hoping they really do have them and just sent me the wrong package. I called and had to leave a message.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
I have a 63. Would an Accord coupe have the same type(shape) of seal? I imagine it is longer than a civic. Might be long enough to make up where the civic comes up short for our trucks.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
I did check the accord coupe but it was close to the same length as the Civic but had 2 formed corners instead of the one that the Civic Coupe had. Most of the Honda vehicles in the same years used the same style of weatherstrip. I check checked out a lot of the models and the Civic Coupe had the longest overall length of any of them. On the van and some of the others it is shorter because it stops short at either end and does not run under the sill.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
gotcha. thanks for the quick shout back.
I was also stinking that the Acura RSX coupe is a cousin of the civic isn't it? Wonder if they would fit if people are having issues finding the civic parts. |

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
I am sure that it would be very similar if not the same.
Honda probably has a huge roll of it in a warehouse somewhere. There also has to be thousands of them in auto wreckers. |

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
Hopefully they aren't floor mats.
I'm seriously baffled on this, Honda has been littering the earth with Civic's for decades now. |

Where did you order yours from? I'm far from needing them, but I've already paid for them at this point.

Re: 64-66 door weatherstrip-EUREKA!!!!
I called them today and they shipped my seals out to the guy who's package I received. He said mine are in route to me.
Pretty sure I ordered mine around the same time, and if not for the mishap I would have had them in under a week. It's funny though, the guy I talked to said how he's been getting orders for these non stop from C10 guys. |
