Re: lets see your custom touches

Rear bumper that came with the truck was rusted but fit well and looked cool. I took it to the local welder and asked him to do his majic on it. The rust was removed with a plasma and new steel added and the tow brackets are welded thru 2 layers of the 1/4" steel bumper. The license plate area was too removed and diamond plate was added and the welds are as good as they get. I ran a later model "step bumper" and hated it. I got it back and cleaned it up and painted it.

My old 66 made a custom roof rack. Not sure how it would look on my 69.

Thumbs up Re: lets see your custom touches

One of mine on the 71 C 10. Place a on off switch on the brake pedal assembly and tie it to the brake wire that runs to the proportioning valve. Put the other side to ground.

Installed and working like it was from the factory!
With key on the dash light is on anytime the E brake is engaged. It will cut off as soon as the E brake handle is pulled!
With the key off it want light up either.
The round light is my 71 the stock was of another vehicle.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I put driving lights in my front bumper. Nothing too sexy, but they work great.

Re: lets see your custom touches

This is the mod that I did to the rear bumper. When I bought the truck, the bumper had small box steps that wrapped around the sides of the bed, and the bottom edge was straight a crossed. For the longest time I wanted a roll pan in the back, but didn't want to lose the ability to tow. One day at my dad's shop I unbolted the bumper, cut off the ends with the acetylene torch, tapered the bottom edge, and ground everything smooth. Win win for me!

Re: lets see your custom touches

Nothing too crazy.
Those 80's z28 dual snorkels usually have one at a angle and one straight out.
Since the kid an i both have one I decided too swap a snorkel from each too make them look better....I let him choose between the angled or straight. I think I got lucky and got the angled one.
He recently just started hooking up the fresh air duct work he has for his.

For my tail gate letters i bought one of those paint masks but didn't notice they gave me fleetside letters.
so while I took the time too tape up and spray the rear side letters white the white I figured wth why not do the inside letters too but i chose satin black for them though.

Hard too see here but the holes in the heater box where the core nipples come through are huge.
I didn't like the cheesy fillers I got in my heater box seal kit so I filled each hole up with a valve cover grommit.

that mirror is sooo cool, what is it out of and is it easy to hook up?

99 Tahoe get the mirror and senor out in front of the grille. Cut enough wires off each end so you know which wires are which. You will have to match them up when you go to install it.

All you need is 12 volts+ and ground wire.

I did the same thing but welded a tab on the pedal, then drilled and tapped it to use an original door switch for the dome light.

Another one of mine. I made my door panels.
