Re: Project 'Kickin Wing' (No Limits/Hotchkis/PorterBuilt/LS Power)
Got the engine and trans in and rolled it outside to clean up the garage a bit
Got the cab and doors losely fitted, the trans didnt clear the factory tunnel so I had to cut it out. I have a high hump tunnel on the way that should work just right. I also have plenty of room between the engine and firewall so I am going to find some mounts that will let me slide the engine back an inch or so. Disregard the ugly cuts, I just roughly cut it out until the new cover comes in. Then I will clean it up Starting to look like a truck now! Next on the list is to get the front sheetmetal blasted and primed where i can get all the gaps set and measure for wheels. |

Re: Project 'Kickin Wing' (No Limits/Hotchkis/PorterBuilt/LS Power)
Dirty Dingo mounts seem to have decent adjustability....

Re: Project 'Kickin Wing' (No Limits/Hotchkis/PorterBuilt/LS Power)
Starting to look like a truck again. Interested in seeing how the doors fit. Did the core support come from Nsane as well?

Re: Project 'Kickin Wing' (No Limits/Hotchkis/PorterBuilt/LS Power)
Thanks guys, long story short on the jack a tree fell on it haha. I had a bunch of trees in my yard cut and didn't have a tractor or anything at the time to move the big logs. So i had the bright idea to cut the big stuff into 3-4 ft lengths and take a little trailer with a gate on it and roll the logs onto the gate then put a jack under the gate to lift it up level and roll the log on the trailer. All went well until I got an egg shaped log, a few hundred pound log rolled off and crushed it pretty good

I cant give you a very good review yet because I am waiting on new door hinges but one looks like it is going to fit really really well and the other is going to need a very minor adjustment around the window frame. Dewayne had told me that I may run into a little trouble in that area but they have fixed that with the newer run of doors. I'm sure Dewayne would be glad to tell you more. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair, and yes the core support is from there as well. |

Re: Project 'Kickin Wing' (No Limits/Hotchkis/PorterBuilt/LS Power)
Hey guys, I have been off of the truck for a while doing a few other things. Over the past few weeks I have been working around the house some, took a trip to New England to visit my wife's family, and have been playing with my new daily some (Fiesta ST).
I have collected a few parts and plan to get back on the horse after this weekend and get some stuff done. I have an auto steering column and linkage to set up, some front end sheet metal, totally stainless bolt kit, and best of all WHEELS. I ordered Eagle 225 in 20x10 for all four corners. Its going to be tight but I measured over and over again and they should work out fine. Im hoping they will be here in a few weeks. Keep an eye out for more frequent updates in the coming months! Here is a pic of the wheel I went with for those that arent familiar. |
