Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
As posted on 'Moody's Utah 58 Apache' build thread, just received the squirters from KMS Tools, who normally have a quality product, the threads of the squirters are way too small for the bezel. Here's the removed blanking screw for comparison . ..

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
I'd call up the KMS CAR Parts guys at Coquitlam location, they really seem to know their stuff

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
These are some interesting comments on the washer nozzle thread size. Makes me wonder if reproduction bezels have a matching thread and neither new ones match stock originals.

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
prolly easier for manufacturer to start with something easily produced/sourced and simply sell the whole part with the nozzles. the original nozzles had a weird sized thread and possibly were a tapered thread as even the originals seem to tighten in the thread before they would bottom in the threaded hole or on the block off screw head.

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
2 days ago, ripping robustly up a on-ramp to the Island Highway 1, the clutch pedal suddenly twisted down to the right while pushing on it.
I had to pull over. I contorted upside down and managed to push the pedal straight - it turns out the pivot plastic 'bolt' spring loaded mechanism gave way. Strange how such a strong workhorse 2500HD gets a plastic clutch pedal - the most used pedal of the 3. Last edited by Rickysnickers; 11-22-2025 at 10:26 AM. Reason: add photos |

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
I ordered a real metal aftermarket clutch pedal assembly from KBDiesel Performance.

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
Here's a strange view from outside - the truck doesn't quite fit inside due to junk - but it's cold and I want to work in the heat . . . . cut cardboard to fit the side profile.

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
About 1-1/2 years total - tinkering, cutting the body open, removing the floor and pondering the finished product etc was about a year, then when I finally found my ultimate donor vehicle, I began full force with nothing else on my mind for 6 months while waiting for my development permit to come through.
Guess what, one can build a custom truck from scratch in less time it takes for a planner to apply a stamp. |

Re: Duramax Task Force Panel
Finished the clutch pedal install yesterday. Nice metal pedal assembly now.
I bought the heim joint upgrade. Have to cut and thread the pushrod - easy enough on the truck. No disassembly required. Allows adjustment now. Cool. |
