oh give me a brake, ha ha
so today we decided it was time to relocate the proportioning valve from under the master cylinder as there was no way to fit it there wedged between it and the trans crossmember, so we mounted it to the frame, quickly realizing the provided 12" brake lines we no longer going to reach Fun Fact: them two brake lines though both of the same 3/16th diameter have three count them THREE different size fittings on them, I think that is so that you don't screw them in the wrong holes, but NAPA doesn't carry 3/16ths hose with different fitting sizes, if you want a bigger fitting you get a bigger line |

I was so impressed by the young man at NAPA who helped me find this adapter, this will tie in the rear brake line into the butt of the proportioning valve

Those are the same parts as in photo 1 Right.? They cleaned up nice. What are you taking photos with Gregski? I end up with fuzzy can't make out what that is kind of crap.

hey greg - even if you are running an auto trans why nor leave the old clutch pedal in? that sure would make people wonder. then you could tell them its a " clutch flite"

LOL, I did that in my '74 and it keeps me up at night, plus on this one I think the clutch linkage sits funny on the Camaro subframe and it may click and clack as we go down the road, and I really want a clean look, especially in the cabin

I honestly never understood the bench bleed the master cylinder process none, all it do is make a mess when mounting and air gets right back in it, never the less here we go...
we closed her off with the new billet top loaded brake line feeder thingie |

I believe I bought the same mc. Quality control....not good. Both reservoirs were very rough, as though there was sand in the casting, they looked terrible. I disassembled the entire unit and used a die grinder etc. to clean it up.

ah man that sux, but I have played the quality part game and the cheap part game, and I have had same or better results with AutoZone or O'Reilly part brands than the name brands - often times it depends on how well you install the part and if you following common sense directions

so picked up some of these Earl's speed bleeder brake valve thingies, man these things were expensive over $60 bucks, but hey what ever keeps the wife on the couch
I believe for my late second gen Camaro (77-81) these are 5/16ths rear and 3/8ths fronts we do the mandatory stare and compare of the stock ones to the spring ball bearing loaded up ones in the last two photographs |
